My husband and I absolutely love going to the Border to get our Mexican fix. We used to be Monterrey/Mexico Lindo fans, but tried this on a whim and have become repeat customers. We're not a fan of your "gourmet Mexican" places like Cinco and Pappasito's, so this is definitely not in that category. If you're wanting a great place to get your Speedy Gonzalez or Chimichanga fix, this is the place! The service has always been excellent as well!

I frequent this restaurant at least once a week. The service has always been above average and if you're looking for extra special service ask for Carmen, she's the best the have. The food is always awesome, but I would recommend the Texas fajitas.

So my boyfriend and I have probably been here 20 times in 6 months. The food is pretty good . Over all the salsa is great we get big cups of it to go all the time. Try the border special or the border dip two of my favorites!

I started eating here around 2001-2002 when I worked at the Rhodes Furniture in the shopping center across the street (now American Signature or something else). I moved away in 2007 and now live in San Diego. Whenever I come back to visit I always make a point to eat at The Border at least once while I'm in town. The food is always on point (try the cheese dip!) and the staff are always friendly. Definitely recommend!

Surprising experience. Loves this place!! the outside of this building is deceptive due to a lack of upkeep BUT the inside is a little slice of heaven. Very clean ...excellent food..wonderful service.

There were 5 of us and they were very busy but we didn't feel the effect of that at all.

We all had different fishes and ALL of them were tasty.

Some authentic Mexican and some American Mexican so you can find what you crave here

Highly recommended

My wife and I are frequent visitors. The food is great, the portions are good sized and the prices are very reasonable. We also like the eclectic decor. More than anything, we enjoy the staff. Everyone is always friendly and goes out of their way to make our visit pleasant.

My friends had margaritas and a Michalada beer drink, which I tasted of course and were very well made. For my friends birthday he got a crowd of employees to come out and sing to him with noisemakers and horns and stuff, then he got a free shot of tequila. It was so fun!

This is my favorite local Mexican place! The older waiter is by far my favorite. He is attentive, fast, and makes everyone want to enjoy themselves. I like the outside eating area. It's perfect for those days when the weather is nice. The margaritas are great!!

Amazing filet Mignon fajitas and crab-stuffed shrimp. Everything about our dinner was great.... Manager gave us a free dessert out of no where! We chose the Castanets-Vanilla bean ice cream rolled in coconuts and pecans.. Ridiculously good.

The food and the experience were average or above for our trip. The Guac was great, and the food was on par and expected. It was very busy and so the service was slower than normal. Even though the Guac came out fast, we sat with empty chips or drinks a few times, and by the time our meal actually came we were all full from the chips and waiting. I would say coming after church probably hurt it a bit, and taking that into account i give it 4 stars because i would have been happy any other time.

Am I the only one with love for Border? C'mon... It looks pretty shabby, the waitstaff probably won't like you, and if you want a quick meal- it ain't gonna happen.

...but it's all worth it.

I'm not a huge fan of most Americanized mexican food because I feel chain eateries just dress up Taco Bell's "grade E" meat with some heavy sauces, and offer fancy margaritas to wash down the grease. Border completely eschews this plan in favor of great quality, low fat cuts of beef and chicken, hot corn chips, incredible salsa, and rice cooked to perfection.

I suggest dropping by during a casual lunch. Not a working lunch, mind you- a lunch where you can drink and beer and sit for a while. The lunch specials consist of a ton of food, and are usually under 5 dollars.

Overall: Awesome food, very low prices, non-chain restaurant. The waitstaff is often slightly surly and their English isn't great- but who cares? You're getting a great meal.

Steak fajita nachos are great. House salsa is a little hotter than most places, which is how I prefer it. Fast, clean, friendly. Been there three times. All good experiences. :-)

Once again, I am pleased with my meal at the border. This time the service was much better! I was inclined to leave 5 stars because I've seen the horrible things that people have said about this place; honestly people are exaggerating. Their food is pretty awesome, please try the beef and cheese dip. I lovvve margaritas they're amazing at this place!! This time we got the fajita special for two, it was massive, to say the least! My husband and I are heavy eaters and we had plenty left over to take home. They give you this extra large skillet filled with grilled, tender, juicy steak and chicken with onions and peppers and two tall wooden skewers of what tasted like wood grilled lime shrimp. It was amazing!! It also came with two full sized plates of rice and beans with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and pico. And I didn't get charged for my side of shredded cheese, which is awesome, because most Mexican restaurants charge for everything!

While not spectacular, it's good Mexican food and has been pretty consistent since I was a student at UWG back in the 90's. The wait staff is always good and I can't recall ever having a bad visit. We visit once every couple of weeks and the kids enjoy it.

First visit to this restaurant and would return! Judging from it's road frontage, it appears to be a very small place...which is deceptive! It's actually very large, with two levels and two outdoor dining areas! Downstairs is a sports bar atmosphere with TV's on the walls. Upstairs is typical Mexican restaurant dining with booths and larger tables in the center. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Most of our party ordered typical fare of burritos, tacos, enchiladas. But one ordered the special of the night, which was a grilled medley of shrimp, beef tips and chicken strips in a nice spicy rub served over chips and topped with a bit of cheese. It was delicious! On any order I would suggest the beef tips or shrimp over shredded chicken (which wasn't flavorful). Most of our typical dishes were in a red sauce, very little cheese. So if you are a cheese fan, ask for extra. Chips and salsa were good and plentiful.
