Dental Care
One of the most common, and yet one of the most overlooked problems affecting pets is dental disease. Since pets do not brush or floss their teeth, they are much more prone to dental disease than humans are. Many pets with dental problems may be in a lot of pain, but since pets are not able to directly communicate with humans, this pain may go unrecognized.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
We offer this screening at a package price of $475. If any additional tests or procedures are necessary, these would be performed at regular charges, and would be discussed with you by the doctor before they are performed. Please call for an appointment or more information.
Behavioral Counseling
Acupuncture is most commonly used for joint and muscle abnormalities, but it is also useful in treating a variety of other ailments, including asthma, allergies, skin conditions, behavioral problems, immune system abnormalities, and problems with internal organs. Initial treatments are usually within several days of each other, with the time between each treatment increasing as the pet responds. The treatment regimen is individually tailored to each patient.
Comprehensive Examination
Every pet should receive regular veterinary examinations, but many abnormalities that affect older pets cannot be detected on routine physical exams. Not everything is as obvious as the graying muzzle on our friend in the picture below.

For dogs, we carry Bravecto which is a tablet that kills fleas and ticks for three months. We also carry Trifexis which is a monthly tablet that kills fleas and intestinal worms.
Pain Management
Though these herbal formulas can come in the form of teas, powders, tablets, tinctures, or syrups, at Mountain Veterinary Hospital we primarily use the tablet form. Chinese herbal formulas can be used alone or in combination with many types of Western medications, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and pain medication.

Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Laser Therapy is an FDA approved method of treating injuries and conditions that cause chronic pain. It has been shown to help arthritis, joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, wounds, muscle sprains, neck and back pain, hip dysplasia, and with healing after surgeries.

Kidney disease and liver disease are examples of illnesses common in older pets, and can be managed by dietary changes.

Hello! My name is Gabby and I’m from Snohomish, WA but have been living in Bellingham and working at Mountain Vet since 2020. I’m currently a student at Western Washington University for a biology major on a pre-veterinary pathway to hopefully fulfill my career as a small animal veterinarian. I absolutely enjoy my time here at the clinic and getting to know each and every client and patient that comes in! I currently have a cat named Gravy and a horse named Nemo who are sure to be the biggest goofballs I know. In my free time I enjoy showing and visiting my horse and exploring Bellingham with friends, with a side hobby of baking. I appreciate all my coworkers and most importantly my bosses for being such good mentors and can assure you that all your pets will get the absolute best care here!
