Overall

Horrible customer service. When I showed dissatisfaction with the way I was being handled the front desk clerk said: "We would be more than happy to transfer your records to another veterinary," with a snide tone. North Shore has horrible communication and follow through. They are for profit and there lack of customer service training with their front line employees shows. I have taken my business elsewhere as suggested by them because clearly my 6 years of business and on time payments meant nothing to them.

A standard dental cleaning without extractions begin at $200. Most frequently the range is between $200 and $800 and is dependent on the overall number of teeth being extracted. Heart Disease Treatment
Your pet’s safety is our primary concern and every pet gets a complete exam in the morning of the day of surgery. Additionally, we evaluate pre-anesthetic blood work, looking at organ function and electrolyte status. Pets receive intravenous (IV) fluids during most procedures to ensure they maintain adequate blood pressure and perfusion. We monitor all anesthetic procedures closely, using ECG (electrocardiography), blood pressure, pulse-oximeter and end tidal CO2. Laser Surgery
Spaying and Neutering
Overiohysterectomy is the surgical sterilization of the female dog and cat and more commonly referred to as spaying. The surgery involves the removal of the uterus and ovaries and is most commonly performed between 5 and 12 months of age. The recommended age for surgery depends on a number of factors, such as predicted adult size and presence of urinary tract or vaginal infections. For giant breed dogs, such as Saint Bernard’s or Irish Wolfhounds, the recommended age of spaying is often later, around 18 months of age.

Dental Radiology
For young patients dental x-rays help us to determine any abnormalities, missing, non-vital, and vital teeth. The radiation risk from taking dental radiographs is minimal and is outweighed by the numerous benefits.
Microchipping
NSVH highly recommends microchipping your pet. With an implanted microchip, you increase your odds significantly with being reunited with your four-legged (or three-legged) family member. It can mean the difference between being lost and found.

General Pet Care

Boarding
What the titer strives to determine is the level of immunity your specific pet has achieved for a particular disease for which they have been vaccinated. There are many variables regarding whether titer testing is accepted as proof of immunity, instead of a vaccine. For example: some doggy daycares, kennels, or cat boarding facilities may not accept titer testing in lieu of vaccinating. If you are considering titer testing, make sure to check with these places in advance to clarify whether or not they accept titer testing. For our area, taking your dog across the border into Canada requires a Rabies certificate of vaccination. A Rabies titer is not an acceptable passport to get your dog into Canada. Rabies vaccines for dogs and cats are now required by law in Washington State.

Pet are very adept at hiding health issues and often diagnosis and treatment is delayed. As with our own aging immune system, pets too become more susceptible to disease and illness.
