The receptionist is rude and ignorant. She refused to talk to me till I went on the web site printed the medical forms, filled them out , fax them to her and then it is entered into their system. I was trying to tell her that my son has disabilities and see if they would be able to take him for an emergency appt. She continued to cut me off to tell me that nothing can be done till she had the forms and the information was put in the system. I asked her once I filled them out would they call me not him. She said they would call the number on the form. She still was not understanding that he is an adult child with disabilities. I filled out the forms and faxed them over and waited. That night my son tells me that someone kept calling about his teeth. I called the dentist right away and left a message to please call me and gave all my numbers again. Next day still no call. Finally I call them. Same rude receptionist, claims she never got my message. When I tried to schedule a appt. she says he missed his appt. that morning. I told her that he has disabilities and should not of been called. She told me she personally spoke to him and did not get that impression. She also was kind enough to tell me that we would not be able to get another emergency apt since we missed the first one. My son would have to wait a week in pain. The WORST part was I got a bill in the mail for a no show fee, 75 bucks. When I called to dispute the bill guess who I spoke to, the same rude lady. I asked to speak to the dentist and was told he would call me. I never heard from him but the nasty letters keep coming asking for their money.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sweeney at Healthy Smiles now for over 7 years. He turned a man like myself who was embarrassed to smile into a man who gets more compliments on his smile now than on any other physical feature.



Although I live in Dover and Healthy Smiles is up in Wilmington, I started going to Dr. Sweeney because I was totally displeased with the Dover office I was using, and no one else would accept my Dominion Dental Discount Plan at the time.



What I got in the end is a dentist I adore. Dr. Sweeney is the best I have EVER been to at any age in any state. I have lived in four states, and I am 62 years old. The hygienists and assistants have also been there a long time, a testament to the way Dr. Sweeney treats his patients and his staff ----with professionalism, respect, and courtesy. I have also saved a great deal of money using my Dominion Dental, and Dr. Sweeney completed my extensive dental work in a timely and convenient fashion, always mindful of the distance I have to drive to get to his office.



There has been some turnover through the years in front desk office personnel because some of them have moved out of the area, started school full time, or moved on to other professional positions in the interest of their careers.



The current staff is pleasant and efficient, and I am always greeted like family when I go for my visits.



I am truly blessed and grateful to have found Healthy Smiles.
