Dental Examination
Visit us every six months for a professional cleaning and dental exam. During your cleaning, a dental hygienist will remove any plaque and tartar, and polish and remove stains from your teeth. The dentist will examine your mouth for tooth decay and gum disease, perform an oral cancer screening, and evaluate soft tissues in the mouth and neck area.

From routine cleanings and exams, to improving the health and appearance of your teeth, Maddox Dentistry can handle all of your oral health needs.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments help prevent tooth decay by building up your tooth enamel. Fluoride treatments are typically given to children as their teeth develop, but adults can benefit from treatments as well—especially those with a history of cavities.
Dental Sealants
Maddox Dentistry can apply a sealant to help protect some teeth from decay. A resin/plastic material is bonded to the enamel of the tooth, usually on biting surfaces of teeth in areas with deep pits and fissures (grooves).

Fillings
When we find a tooth decay or a cavity, we need to remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then apply a filling. With the help of a local anesthetic, our dentists will remove the decay with a high speed dental drill and layer the filling material into the tooth for a smooth finish. Patients can choose from a number of filling materials, including tooth-colored fillings, silver fillings and gold fillings.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front side of teeth. Made of tooth-colored materials, veneers help us fix spaces between teeth and teeth that are chipped or worn, permanently stained, poorly shaped or slightly crooked.
Crowns
Maddox Dentistry is proud to feature CEREC, a technologically-advanced machine that allows us to make crowns right in our office. Where the earlier method required more than one visit, we can now prepare the tooth and place a permanent crown in just once visit. First, your dentist will prepare the tooth by removing decay. Then, using 3-D photography and special computer software, the CEREC machine creates a porcelain (or tooth-colored) crown to perfectly match the tooth. Finally, your dentist will cement the crown into place, capping the existing tooth and protecting it from future breakdown.

Root Canal Treatment
Maddox Dentistry uses both regular and digital x-rays. These are an important diagnostic tool, as we use them to check for proper tooth spacing and alignment, look for decay between the teeth, identify any cysts and tumors, and locate teeth that haven't grown in yet. X-rays also help identify cracks and other damage in an existing filling, alert the dentist to possible bone loss associated with gum disease, reveal problems in the root canal, and prepare and place tooth implants or other dental work.

Dentures
Dental implants are another option for replacing missing teeth. Unlike bridges and crowns, dental implants replace not only the tooth, but the roots as well. To begin with, we surgically place an implant by attaching it to the jaw bone. Then the replacement tooth is attached to the top of the implant. While this option may seem more invasive, implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework because they don’t rely on the neighboring teeth for support. Dental implants are a great alternate to dentures.
