Patrick has worked on renewable development projects in every state in the Western United States. He represents some of the country’s largest independent power producers in wholesale and retail energy market transactions. Patrick advises solar, wind, geothermal, and energy storage project sponsors on site acquisition, transmission, and power purchase agreement negotiations. He also assists producers of new technologies that combat climate change, including renewable fuels, carbon capture, and carbon offset credits, in drafting and negotiating key commercial transactions.

Intellectual Property
David Gindler, an experienced trial attorney, is a partner in Orrick’s Los Angeles office. David focuses on intellectual property litigation and licensing, with a strong emphasis on trials of high-stakes patent and trade secret disputes.
Antitrust
Jon also has substantial experience in the antitrust and competition space, including class action antitrust litigation, criminal cartel investigations and enforcement actions before the DOJ and international regulators, as well as mergers and acquisitions and conduct investigations before the DOJ and FTC. Employment Discrimination
Marc represents clients in federal and state court at the trial and appellate levels with a particular focus on class actions, multi-district litigation, and mass joinders. Among Marc’s current engagements, he represents Santa Clara University and a U.S. public university system in multiple pandemic-related class actions seeking refunds of tuition and fees; Deloitte & Touche in a pay and promotion gender discrimination class action; NCAA in concussion and injury-related cases throughout the country; Marathon Oil Corporation in nationwide climate change litigation; and multiple foreign defendants in a class action in an MDL arising out of allegedly defective drywall. Recently, Marc played a lead role in securing denial of class certification and affirmance by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in an employment discrimination suit against Microsoft. He also successfully secured dismissal on immunity grounds of the Regents of the University of California in a class action before the Northern District of California. In addition, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Marc is actively assisting clients in strategizing around litigation arising out of the health crisis.

Real Estate Litigation
William Molinski is Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office and a member of the Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. An experienced trial lawyer, Bill has represented corporate clients and individuals in a wide variety of commercial disputes with a particular emphasis in the areas of trade secrets, and other intellectual property disputes, consumer class actions and real estate disputes.
