This includes a mono, oligo, or polyarticular septic arthritis involving the large joints, mainly the knees, hips or shoulders. These are seen in 60% of untreated Lyme. New studies have shown that by the age of 3, 100% of small children has positive for another type of latent herpes virus called HHV–6. This virus also may play a role in Alzheimer’s disease. Children age 6-16 who test positive for this infection have been shown to have lower reading and spatial reasoning scores. Both HSV 1 and cytomegalovirus infections in middle-age are associated with impaired learning and recall. The more often a person has reactivation of the sleeping viruses, the greater or his or her risk for getting Alzheimer’s dementia and also social problems and educational problems. These viral reactivation obviously depend directly on the health of our immune system. Other factors include poor diet, diabetes, chronic stress, exposure to industrial chemicals, exposure to pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides as well as excessive vaccinations.

In January 2015, the federal government launched a 250 million Precision Medicine Initiative to help build a data base that stores information and to support research at the National Cancer Institute. That funding alone, however, isn’t nearly enough to usher in a new era of custom cancer care. What we need to do is have full data from all physicians which is the goal of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. ASCO recently announced it is creating a registry of patients who take drugs that are approved for a cancer other than the one for which they were cleared for by the FDA. We need to gather this information.

Without the myelin sheath neuronal communication becomes impossible and the neurons become susceptible to damage. Because MS is not selective for specific neurons and can progress through the brain and spinal cord randomly, each patient’s symptoms may vary. Typically, during the initial stage of the disease, symptoms often emerge for a short time before regressing for an extended period.

Multiple sclerosis can affect people of all ages however the average age of disease is between 20 and 40 years. Fatigue, numbness in the limbs, impaired vision, muscle weakness, loss of balance, and bladder dysfunction are frequent. Approximately 40% of MS patients suffer from changes in memory, reasoning, spatial perception and verbal fluency. The diagnosis usually made by MRI, antibody testing of the fluid found in the CNS and clinical symptoms.

When it comes to stem cell therapy many physicians are performing bone marrow harvesting or liposuction for fat tissue. The problem is there are surgical procedures and can have complications. There is pain, risks and the cost involved. The other problem is that the stem cells are only as good as the age of the patient there taken from. As you know as we age, we do not heal well, and we produce fewer and fewer stem cells and have less viable and less effective growth factors. As people age their own stem cells do not show the effectiveness as a younger person.

They are normal in most cases of acute and early disseminated stages, but are abnormal in 20 to 40% of patients with Lyme encephalopathy. Punctate white matter demyelinization lesions are noted on T2-weighting. Also noted are multiple sclerosis-like lesions that are also heightened in distributions. I perform a neuro quantitative analysis. These are indistinguishable from multiple sclerosis.
