Dr. Daniel Agarwal is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a specialization in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He received his Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa and Graduation with Distinction honors. He earned his Medical Degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, graduating with Honors in Research. Dr. Agarwal went on to complete his internship at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, CA and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arizona. Thereafter, he completed a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute and a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and medical diseases of the retina at Yale University.

Cataract Surgery

At first, the cataract may simply change the strength of the glasses. Later, even new glasses may not improve the vision much. When a cataract reaches the stage where it limits the vision, and an individual would like better vision, then cataract surgery is considered. Fortunately, modern-day cataract surgery is generally (typically) very successful at improving the vision and is among the most common surgeries performed in this country today.

Dr. Agarwal is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Vit Buckle Society, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Agarwal has been involved in numerous research projects including vitreous disorders, diabetic retinopathy, fluorescein angiography, panretinal photocoagulation, endophthalmitis, corneal keloids, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and glaucomatous optic neuropathy. He has received grants from the American Federation on Aging, Cleveland Clinic, and Yale University to conduct and present his research. Dr. Agarwal has several peer reviewed publications and has presented at many national and international conferences.

Botox
BOTOX injections are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world. BOTOX or botulinum type A is a medication used to relax the muscles of the face that create wrinkles. The injection causes a temporary paralysis of the muscle, and the effect wears off after several months.

Rhinoplasty
Sometimes the filler can be used on the top of the nose to even out the nasal bridge as non-surgical rhinoplasty. Fillers can be used to help with wrinkles and lines around the eyes and forehead.

In addition to his focus on performing state-of-the-art cataract, laser, glaucoma, refractive and eyelid plastic surgery, he is the author of an ophthalmology textbook and numerous journal articles, book chapters and scientific abstracts.
Blepharoplasty
The upper eyelid blepharoplasty removes extra eyelid skin in a 20-30 minute outpatient surgery. Sutures are left in place for a week and the eyelids may have some swelling or bruising for a few days. Sometimes insurance will cover the cost of the surgery if the heavy eyelid is obstructing the upper vision.
Cosmetic Surgery
Patients who are bothered by the eyelid skin folds or bags and choose to have blepharoplasty are some of the happiest patients who have cosmetic surgery. The risks of surgery are low and the results are obvious.
