Traditional panoramic x-rays are fantastic, however they have limitations because they show a 3-dimensional object on a flat, 2-dimensional x-ray.

Teeth Cleaning
Vanessa is an Atlanta Dental Spa team member who worked with us for over a year before she built up the nerve to get in the chair for a dental cleaning. She’d had traumatic experiences in the past, and the team at Atlanta Dental Spa did a great job making her feel at home and putting her at ease.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are a protective varnish that is placed to protect the deep grooves in your back teeth. These grooves are hiding places that allow bacteria to accumulate and cause tooth decay. The sealant eliminates the hiding place and works to prevent cavities.

Fillings
Dental Inlays and Onlays are porcelain fillings that are alternatives to crowns. When a tooth is cracked, or an old amalgam filling is leaking or failing, an inlay or onlay is an ideal way to restore the tooth. Dentists used to have to grind teeth down to nubs and place crowns on teeth, but not anymore. At Atlanta Dental Spa we prefer to keep your teeth intact and restore only the unhealthy or unstable parts of your teeth.
Veneers
You can think of a porcelain veneer a lot like a contact lens, but for your teeth! Porcelain veneers are extremely thin (0.3mm, about the thickness of a business card) sheets of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your tooth. Porcelain is the material of choice because it most naturally replicates human enamel. They are used to change the shape, color, size, and symmetry of the teeth and smile.
Crowns
Our newer materials don’t use any acrylic -- our typical design uses a titanium substructure which is very strong. Because it’s so strong, we don’t need to use the bulky, cumbersome designs that come with acrylic. The smaller, thinner size immediately becomes a patient’s preference; we need beauty, not bulk! The metal framework is also created in a way that perfectly supports each tooth for maximum stability and strength, and it simulates the shapes of natural teeth beneath the crowns. Zirconia (extremely hard, porcelain-like) crowns are then added to the framework along with highly detailed gums. Again, because we do not use acrylic, even the gums are hand sculpted and characterized to match your natural shade and texture -- we can even simulate muscle attachments, the textured roof of the mouth, root forms beneath gums, and other minute details that always occur in nature and rarely occur in prosthetics.
Bridges
A porcelain bridge is a treatment option for replacing a missing tooth. Atlanta Dental Spa takes great pride in producing bridges that look great, look natural, and are highly functional. We won’t accept anything less than the best in replacing a lost tooth or teeth.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is the use of white, tooth-colored composite filling material to fill, repair, or making minor aesthetic improvements to a tooth. The procedure is technique-sensitive, which means the systems in the procedure have to be performed precisely and without error. That’s why you want an expert Atlanta Dental Spa dentist to perform bonding for you! Unlike mercury fillings where you essentially fill a hole, placing composite bonding takes precision and detail or else the bonding will fail. If done incorrectly the filling will leak, fall out, crack, break, or the patient will have sensitivity after the filling is placed. Done correctly, however, dental bonding is an excellent, highly aesthetic, and long lasting result for repairing, restoring or enhancing a tooth.

Root Canal Treatment
A root canal is needed when damage occurs to a tooth’s pulp. This can happen due to an injury or due to severe tooth decay. A root canal is often a dreaded procedure but is often the only alternative to having a tooth extracted. Root canals are also very effective at eliminating tooth pain.

Deep Cleaning
Periodontal disease treatment can result in a 0.4% reduction of HbA1c levels! Common forms of treatment options include scaling and root planning, and periodontal trays.

Dentures
Traditionally, “All-on-4” hybrid dentures were made of standard denture materials -- acrylic teeth and gums. These are much softer than natural teeth, so the teeth will predictably wear down over time. Luckily for all of us, dental materials continue to improve, and there are far stronger, more lifelike options now. At Atlanta Dental Spa, we pride ourselves on striving to provide the best, not the easiest or the cheapest. We want our patients to be thrilled with their results, and we want those beautiful results to be able to hold up for a very long time.
Overdentures
This is a denture that is essentially attached to either two dental implants or two mini-implants. You can see how this option helps to stabilize and retain the denture in the mouth. The denture will actually “click” into the two positions. Old dentures (or your existing denture) can usually be retro-fit to accommodate this new denture. This is the second best denture option for long term use. At Atlanta Dental Spa we believe almost all lower dentures should be an overdenture, because otherwise the denture will flop around, making it difficult to speak, eat, and talk.

Dental Implants
We place 6 implants on each arch of your mouth. Many places only place 4 implants (to cut costs). More implants equals more long term stability.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) can be incorporated into just about every oral surgery procedure: wisdom teeth, tooth extractions, implants, bone grafts, and sinus lifts. Using PRF speeds up how quickly the surgical site heals by stimulating the body to accelerate it’s normal processes. This causes soft tissue (gums) to close faster and it has Bone Morphogenic Proteins (BMPs) that help create new bone quickly. PRF is not just a product, it is a product of YOU. A small amount of blood is drawn, just like giving a sample at your physician’s office, and that blood is centrifuged to concentrate the healing molecules into a clot in the test tube. The clot can be used by itself, mixed into bone grafts, or as a covering to protect the surgical site. This clot is purely you, it’s just the best parts of you, so you cannot be allergic and it jump starts the healing process.
Gum Surgery
Atlanta Dental Spa can help you reverse your risk and get your mouth healthy. Traditional dental offices do attempt to correct gum disease with processes that involve bloody, painful scraping of your teeth and roots. Atlanta Dental Spa has much better treatment options. We help our patients avoid deep, painful cleanings and gum surgery with our conservative custom treatments for unhealthy gums.
Tooth Extractions
Great improvements in dentistry now allow wisdom tooth extraction to be gentle, comfortable and easy for the patient. When you hear you have to have your wisdom teeth taken out, it doesn’t sound like good news, but Atlanta Dental Spa makes it easy!
Bone Grafting
May of our patients report they’d been told by other dentists that they are not candidates for dental implants. These days, it’s fairly rare to be a patient who cannot have implants. One limiting factor is loss of bone that will support the implant, but with advances in technology and understanding we can now do bone grafting as a routine aspect of tooth replacement.

Orthodontics

Invisalign Orthodontics
Appearance: simply put, clear aligners look better than metal brackets and wires. Adults wanting to fix their teeth prefer not looking like a teenager again. Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible and patients are not as self-conscious and self-esteem is not lessened.
