Founded in 1967, The Overlake School is an independent, non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory day school. It provides enrollment to more than 450 students in grades five through 12. The school is accredited by the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools and the Northwest Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities. It operates through various departments that include art, English, history, language, math, physical education, science and library. The school offers various cocurricular activities, such as athletics, band, choir, project week, community service, student government, drama productions, yearbook, literary magazine and diversity club. It also offers various outdoor programs that include sea kayaking, mountaineering, backpacking, whitewater rafting, snowshoeing and emergency medical technician training. The Overlake School is located in Redmond, Wash.
