The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is the official state library that serves the information and records management needs of state government. It assists in the development of public library and coordinate library and information technology projects for the state of Oklahoma. The department administers a variety of library and information services, including state archives, records management, state and federal government documents and interlibrary referral. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is governed by a board of directors appointed by governor and confirmed by state senate. It operates legislative reference, management, and collections and services. The department has a center of books that administers an annual book awards program. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is located in Oklahoma City.
