Best-looking laundromat I've ever used. Clean, homey-feeling. It's not huge but has enough large and standard-sized machines. Prices are similar to others except the regular-sized dryers give you 16 minutes of drying time per quarter. I've never seen anything that cheap.

Usually when I'm in a laundromat I'm counting the minutes until I can leave. This place is different. If feels comfortable. I don't know if it is the wood floors, the nicer chairs and tables, the cleanliness, or something else, But it just feels nice.

The Laundry Basket seems to be a nice facility, however, it did not make a good enough first impression on me to ever go back again. There were several "out of order" washers and driers, and one didn't even have a sign on it, so people were throwing their laundry into it getting everything ready for the wash, and they'd go to put their quarters in, to have the quarters come right back out. They would have to then take their clothes out of that machine and find an open one to put them in. Also the driers did not dry the majority of my laundry. At first I put my laundry in the small driers for 24 minutes, when they did not dry there, I moved them to the bigger driers. I did one load for 10 minutes in the bigger drier and one load for 30 minutes in the bigger drier and my laundry was STILL WET!
Had the machines worked the prices would be OK. A 34 minute wash cost $1.25 (or you can upgrade it to a "super wash" for a quarter). The small driers were $0.25 for 12 minutes. The 30lbs driers were $0.25 for 10 minutes. And the 50lbs drier was $0.25 for 7 minutes.
I do not recommend The Laundry Basket for people who rely on laundry mats as their way of doing laundry. However, if your washer or drier just broke, and this is a one time thing, then it wouldn't hurt you to go there. Just be prepared to either do many loads in the driers or to come home and hang your clothes to dry.
This review is from 2008. I invite the reviewer, or anyone else who has not visited The Laundry Basket lately to stop in and see the changes. We're still located in the strip mall on Rawson near Pennsylvania with Piggly Wiggly, but very little else is the same. New equipment New amenities (Flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, Furniture) Daily cleaning schedule Regular maintenance on all equipment Direct involvement from the new owners all combine to make this a very different place than it was even six months ago.

This is an excellent laudromat: Clean, plenty of machines, TV, and couches to relax on. They have a brand new front load washers, large capacity washers and dryers, and plenty of standard size washers and dryers. It is in a very safe area and is well lit if you plan on going at night. I highly recommend The Laundry Basket.
