Founded in 1853, the Children's Aid Society is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of social services for children adolescents and parents. It administers various after-school, adoption, pregnancy prevention, foster care, arts, health care, counseling, juvenile justice, legal advocacy, sports, recreational and youth development programs. The organization also provides a family support program that includes transitional housing, domestic violence prevention and intervention, financial assistance and homemaker services. Additionally, the Children's Aid Society operates more than 20 community schools that offer educational and in-house health and social services for the physical, emotional and socially development of children in city of New York.
