Insects and Spiders

Ants
Habit: These ants invade buildings while foraging for food throughout the year. Nests are outdoors under stones. along curbs, or in cracks of pavement. They can nest indoors in walls and under floors.
Spiders
Habit: Some spiders like moisture and are found in basements, crawl spaces, and other damp parts of buildings. Others like dry, warm areas such as subfloors, air vents, upper corners of rooms, and attics. Spiders typically hide in dark areas.
Termites
Termites live in colonies underground, building tunnels in search of food, and are able to reach food above the ground level by building mud tubes. They travel through mud tubes since they are dependent on moisture for survival.
Bed Bugs

Habit: Nocturnal, primarily infests areas close to food, moisture, and warmth. Most commonly cockroaches are found in and around apartments, homes, supermarkets, and restaurants.

One of the many success stories about A&D that comes to mind for me is the time we had bees nesting in a tree/bush outside of one of the building's walkways. Within minutes from the time we contacted A&D, Mr. Tudino sent a crew over to not only eliminate the bees, but alsoÂ had the tree/bush cut down, which isn't normally the pest control's responsibility.Â This truly exemplifies the type of high, quality service A&D delivers on a consistent basis by always going "above and beyond" for their customers.
Wasps
Habit: Wasps make nests from paper. They chew up strips of bark and spit it out again to form a rough paper. Some wasps make nests in basements, sheds or dark, cool places.
Ticks
Reproduction: Adult female hard ticks feed only once and lay one large batch of eggs, often containing as many as 10,000 or more. Tick larvae will hatch from the eggs in anywhere from two weeks to several months.

Mosquitoes
There's no doubt that mosquitoes are an annoyance. There's nothing like a swarm of pesky mosquitoes to ruin a fun evening on the deck or patio with your family, or to send your barbecue guests running for cover. Best known as a summer pest, Mosquitoes can develop from egg to adult in 10 - 14 days, posing as a health hazard to people and animals.
Flies
Habit: Flies live in garbage and wherever animal feces are available. Dead animals attract flies within hours after death. Most flies are diurnal.

"A&D has been taking care of our two buildings, preventative for termites and carpenter ants, for a while now. Today we had a scare, a housekeeper, while changing the bed linens, declared that she found bed bugs in two of the bedrooms. In a panic, I called them, about 4:45 pm. They came right out, to inspect, and to make a plan, which would have to be taken into consideration, sixty years of accumulation with which to consider, if full aerial fumigation was required. After a very comprehensive inspection of the entire house, not just the two suspicious bedrooms, he declared that, what were thought to be bed bugs, were in fact, merely one or two carpet beetles, and that we had no worries.
Hornets
Habit: Hornets build gray, paper nests with many compartments, and a papery outer covering, which may hang near ground level or very high in trees, shrubs, vines, overhangs, sheds, and utility poles.
Yellow Jackets
"I can't say enough about the service I received this evening. I made a call at 7:45 pm and by 9:00 pm I was bee free. Earlier in the day I called another company (1:45 pm) had to make a second one because no one returned my call. Finally after to speaking to someone they couldn't send anyone till one week from today. I had bees coming in my house through the air conditioning. When I got out of work I called A&D. They were at my house within an hour. Adrian was pleasant and reassuring that he could help me. Thank god for him because I never would have slept worrying about bees swarming around my house. Apparently I had yellow jackets and hornets. I highly recommend this company, and thank you Adrian. I'm definitely thinking about getting that homeowners service contract."
Moths
Habit: Wherever there are plants, there are moths, but they also utilize a range of other foodstuffs, including fungi and animal litter, in birds, mammal, insect nests, and even dung. Stored products, such as dried fruit and flour, can support a few species.

Diet: Wasps are fierce predators and they hunt and eat almost every insect pest that harms crops. Wasps eat grasshoppers, aphids, flies, and other bees. They also eat nectar, tree sap and fruit. Some wasps eat human food.

Diet: They are omnivorous eating fruits, nuts, grains, insects, frogs, crayfish, bird eggs, and anything else available. Raccoons do not really wash their food, but usually obtain their food from lakes and streams.

Opossums
Habit: Opossums habitats are diverse, ranging from arid to moist, wooded to open fields, and prefer environments near streams or swamps. They take shelter in burrows of other animals, tree cavities, brush piles, and other cover such as attics and garages, where they make a messy nest.

Birds

Rodents
Diet: In its immature stages, the larvae and nymphs feed on small rodents such as rabbits, lizards, and birds. Adults feed on larger animals such as deer, dogs, and humans. In all of the stages, the tick feeds by imbedding its mouth parts into the skin of the host and taking in a meal of blood.
Mice
Rats and mice contaminate food and spread diseases. They gnaw through walls and electrical wiring as well, making them among the most destructive pests that can invade your home or business. An A&D technician will go out and address the problem at every level, inspecting entry points and finding nesting sites. Rats
Mark Cardarelli said neighbors up and down the street have reported seeing and trapping rats in the last week or so. "That's never happened before," he said. Their appearance coincided with sewer work being done in the area.

Chipmunks
Lyme Disease: Lyme disease typically peaks in May through July, when the ticks that carry the disease are most active. Lyme, Borrelia burgdorferi, reaches people through tick bites after moving through a chain of other species. Burgdorferi typically live in mice, chipmunks, birds, and deer in wooded areas. And these are all animals that ticks feast on. The tick is in fact quite vampire-like - not an insect, but in the same family as the spider, mite, and scorpion - and progresses through its three life stages fueled by the blood of mammals. That includes humans. They're attracted to the warmth and carbon dioxide we give off. Though they can't jump or fly, they typically crawl onto us (and other animals) when we brush against them - walking through tall grass, playing in fields. If the ticks are carrying Lyme or other pathogens, they can infect us when they bite.
