Mr Stereo

I have been taking my Vehicles to this shop for the past 4-5 years, having my sterio installed, then the car audio system (and so forth) and had thought that over the years we had built a pretty good Retail/Customer Relationship, or so I thought... I knew that I wasn't getting the greatest deals, but I figured that if something broke or needed to be replaced, as long as it was under warranty, that I wouldn't have any problems... That was NOT the case! I was having them install a complete Car Audio System, all of the components were BRAND NEW and still in the origional packaging(plastic covers, styro-foam, Purchased from American & NOT from a Open Box Sale or Returned Merchandise either. It was all BRAND NEW...) When I went to pick up my car, they told me that there was a problem with one of my Amps & that it was Blown. The tech tried to sell me another replacement Amp and said that he would give me a Deal because of all the other stuff I had recently done on my Vehicle. He said he would give me an additional 20% off of a New Amp, if I traded him the one that he said was Blown... Did I mention that EACH Amp cost over $900.oo, and Retail was $1500.oo!!! So at this point, not only did I have to pay Full Price for the Installation, he wanted to sell me another Amp like the one that I already had (but he claimed was Blown) for another $1300.oo!!! He had another Installation tech that also worked their, take a look at it & they BOTH agreed that it was Blown & would need to be replaced. They also told me that where ever I had bought it from would not take it back as a return because of the fact that it was a Blown Amplifier..... They also were NOT responsible either, so I was S.O.L! Even though it was BRAND NEW, before they started the installation! I left Mr Stereo 2 and went to another shop & explained what had happened, so they Bench Tested the Amp and it was Fine!! There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!! The tech had hooked it up wrong, which could have very easily caused it to Blow up, but made the Amp look like it was Blown! Luckily, something told me to get a second opinion from another shop and I was Lucky that I did! When I took it back up to Mr Stereo 2, they said that I switched the Amps and that I was trying to get $$$ off of the "flawless" installation!!!

If you are considering taking ANY Vehicle there, THINK TWICE & GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! These guys would rob their own Mother, so they will DEFINATELY take advantage of their own Customers- They tried to do it to me!!! When I talked to the Owner, he said that his Cousin (the one that did the actual Installation and tried to "Get over" on me) was an excellent Stereo Installation Tech & would NEVER do anything like that!!! FYI: The other tech that he asked for a 2nd opinion was the Owners Brother!!!)
