Great Store!

I bought a mountain bike from this store in 2010 and I put over 700 miles on it, in rain, snow, and sun, never rusted out, never had problems with the gears, never had problems with the tires, but I did pop them a couple of time, but I am a really rough rider. I called in early, told them what I like to do, where I like to bike, and what bike they think is best for me. Got an outstanding bike, great service. Plus I also ran into a tree, and messed up my front tire, called in, brought it in the next day, went shopping for a hour, and came back and picked up my fixed bike! Through really rough terrain, tires never got worn down. Although with my accident, my brakes got a little messed up, and going down a really steep hill really fast is not a good idea. When I got back, I did a little tinkering around with my brakes. I spend all my free time biking and taking care of my bike, so that could be why my bike lasts so long. Also recommended with your bike is a bike odometer, works great after 3 years! Overall, no mater what you hear with the other comments, Allis Bike and Fitness is highly recommended.

I won a bike through the West Allis Soap Box Derby donated by Allis Bike Shop a million years ago. It was my first Schwinn. 40 years later, and even though I'm not in West Allis anymore, I still make the treck back to Allis Bike Shop for my cycling needs. They are outstanding! My kids all got their first bikes from them too - says something about the business and the negative reviews on this page are ridiculous in my eyes - Allis has never steered me wrong. Absolutely give them your business!

As owner of Allis Bike, I've b...

As owner of Allis Bike, I've been taking erroneous reviews lately with a grain of salt. With the one below, I felt it time to respond to some of these. The customer in question came into our store looking for a wheel. After purchasing one, two days later he returned with he bent axle. Claiming he got it from “just riding along” (note: axles don’t bend from that), we did free adjustments for him that other shops would get $15-$25 for. A few days later, he came back in after blowing apart his freewheel.

Now, as with most weather-related businesses, repairs are backed up. A normal two day wait has turned into a week and a half (a business can only do so many repairs in a day). We replaced his freewheel at no labor charge while he waited. He then came back into the store within minutes saying his “gears were clicking, and to put the old gears back on.” After trying to explain to him that his “old one” was broken and could not be re-installed, we further determined that the wear and incompatibility of his parts resulted in his bike not working properly. At this point, the customer became argumentative. Not only did we return his money, but waiting to end the transaction as smoothly and quickly as possible, we gave him the newly installed freewheel free of charge. To receive a review like this baffles me. Rest assured “stallisbob”, we know who you are and you are no longer welcome in our store.

Go to Wheel and Sprocket inste...

They don't want your business unless you're spending a lot on a new bike. I took my MTBs rear wheel in just to have the sprocket replaced. That's a thirty dollar part and a thirty minute job. They said I would have to wait all day fri, sat, sun, and mon. So the low grade part starts to malfunc soon after, my fault. I ride the bike in and after I convince him which sprocket fits my bike, he, who I hope is the owner, takes my bike back and after no provocation says I'm gonna make him lose his effing mind. Then, he starts telling me what a pos my Gary Fisher is! He told me that I should just "throw it in the trash because it's junk!" The whole time he's doppin f bombs In front of a bunch of other customers! I say it might be junk to you, cuz you have the nicest bike in here. After his fit says, "Here's your f---g money back, keep the sprocket, don't ever come back to this f---g store." I was mad but then though, you have serious issues. People like me would have been repeat customers. I've never had a good experience , and I don't recommend this place to anybody...

I don't like that when someone sell you something and gives no service right after the sale. I bought a bike from here and got no service 3 days later. I had problems with my front derailleur took it in 3 days later to the service area and a guy with a beard said it is perfectly normal to get little rub againts the front deraileur and if you want to get rid of the little rub againts the deraileur you have to buy a more expensive bicycle. I just paid $500 for the bicycle. I end up taking it to Wheel and Sprocket and they fine tune it for me and made it work perfect. I had to paid for the tune up because the guy with the beard was to lazy to fix my bike. I'll never again buy anything from West Allis Bike & Fitness.

One Excellent Bike Shop!

Over the past three years, we have purchased five bikes from this bike shop. They may seem small from the outside, but the personalized service that they offer is outstanding. This is clearly the best bike shop around!

If they don't have the bike in stock that you need, they will order it. Any accessory you want put on your bike when you buy it, they will put it on - get this - for free! They help you find the appropriate bike for your needs, and do not push a bike that is more expensive than what you need. They carry Specialized, Schwinn and a few other high quality brand bikes.

The two brothers, Steve and and Pete, and Bret, are very knowledgeable. And, when they don't know the answer, they find it out for you.

If you are looking for a bike shop with a lot of honesty, care for their customers and knowledge, this is the one for you!
