The Tennessee School of Massage is comprised of an intimate lecture hall, clinical facilities for hands on training and practical demonstrations. The in-house spa has licensed aestheticians who see clients for facials, waxing and body-wraps, giving the student valuable insight into the inner workings of a live spa environment. The retail area carries numerous massage oils including aromatherapy and scrubs which students may purchase at a discount. A complete reference library, housing books and video tapes that enhance learning in the field of holistic wellness is also onsite. Students have access to everything needed for massage therapy... i.e. tables, linens, oils and other equipment. No Table Purchase is Required.
Body Wrap
Memphis massage institution, Tennessee School of Massage is proud to announce that we are celebrating our 21st year in business. Tennessee School of Massage has graduated a huge number of therapists that are still practicing massage therapy in the greater Memphis area, and in fact, the entire Mid-South region. Students at Tennessee School of Massage have the unique ability to work on real clients, in a real spa setting, as soon as they develop the skills needed to reach the level of “intern”. As a result, they are exposed to clients in the spa that are there to receive facials, body wraps, waxing and various other “spa” related services. Acupressure
Class Schedule for days and times.Our full-time program runs over a nine month period, divided into four eight week sessions. The curriculum is an integration of courses from three areas; allied sciences, massage technique and personal growth. Required courses include Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Hydrotherapy Techniques, Introduction to Acupressure, Therapeutic Touch and extensive hands-on Clinical Practice.Tennessee School of Massage has an externship program in partnership with Living Health Day Spa. The externship experience prepares students to go out into the real world, by providing graduates with a behind the scenes look at how a massage business works. The educational experience is further enhanced by health forums, visiting lecturers and practitioners and volunteer projects in athletic events.
Acupuncture
This course provides an overview of the different forms of acupressure. The course included demonstrations, instruction, and the practice of shiatsu. In Shin acupuncture, do-in, traditional breathing exercise, and Chinese self acupressure methods.
