Dental Examination
During your first visit to our office, you will receive a thorough dental examination that includes X-rays and comprehensive risk assessments. Your dentist will develop a Personal Dental Care Plan based upon your immediate needs, current dental health, and long-term oral health goals. Most patients will receive a cleaning at their first visit, based on the assessment and recommendation from your dentist.
X-rays
Most of our patients are advised by their regular dentists to have their wisdom teeth taken out. If dental X-rays reveal that your wisdom teeth will not have the room to grow into place, your dentist may refer you to an oral surgeon to have them taken out before they have the chance to cause problems.

Teeth Cleaning
Working at VOMS is like no other experience. I’ve had to transition from dental cleanings to preventive implant care and use of ND: Yag laser. My favorite part of working at VOMS is the patient care. I greatly enjoy helping transform patients’ smiles. Making sure each patient I see has a great experience makes all the difference to me.

Oral Surgery

Gum Surgery
Typically we use the same billing codes as traditional gum surgery and the laser treatment is generally no more expensive than traditional surgery. There are other factors that may affect the cost, such as the severity of the periodontal disease, and how many teeth are involved. Many insurance plans pay only for a portion of this treatment. Patients should discuss their payment options with the dental office personnel as we offer financing for this treatment.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Tooth Extractions
The ultimate goal of routine dental care, including brushing, flossing, and regular trips to the dentist, is to preserve your natural teeth for as long as possible. In some situations, it may be necessary to have a tooth removed. This may be a result of disease, decay, or dental neglect. A tooth extraction may also be necessary should teeth become impacted, meaning they are submerged beneath gum tissue rather than erupting as they are meant to.
Bone Grafting
Most of the patients we see for bone grafting have either had teeth extracted or have lost teeth to disease or decay.

Orthodontics
At Valley OMS, we see many patients who complain about their jaws being too big or too small, asymmetric, or their teeth not fitting properly. These problems can sometimes be related. While issues of misaligned teeth may be corrected through orthodontics, problems of jaw under or overgrowth and/or asymmetries may require corrective surgery. This surgery not only improves the facial appearance but also ensures the teeth fit together the way they are supposed to.
