Capitol Kids has beautiful high quality clothes for children. The kind you wish were in adult sizes so that you could wear them yourself. Because the owners are a mother/daughter team, there are clothes that range from clothes that grandmothers love to buy for their grandchildren to clothes that meet the sensibilities of younger parents. Besides clothes thay have as great selection of children's toys, books and games. Lots of fun stuff.

Capitol Kids is the most magical children’s store I have ever visited. It’s simply delightful – it’s like taking a stroll through your long-lost imagination (I’m a 37-year-old mom so it’s rusty!). The selection of toys, clothes and books is outstanding. They’ve always got new things to offer which makes gift-giving something I always look forward to, rather than worrying about. Thank you Capitol Kids for being a kid- and parent-friendly oasis in downtown Madison!

Capitol Kids has great, inviting displays of its unique toys, books and games in an environment that encourages fun and play.



Their selection of high-quality clothing is wonderful, with brands popular with kids, such as Small Paul.



And with all the concerns about harmful substances in toys from China, it's such a relief to shop knowing that the owners are committed to toy safety in what they offer.

The best toy store I've seen!

Capitol Kids is an incredible children’s store! I love the merchandise so much that I even place orders over the phone to send out of state. The knowledgeable staff matches the product lines to customers requests. The toys, children’s clothing and baby lines are high quality. Capitol Kids welcomes little hands in the store and even have a clean bathroom. This is one of my favorite stores in Wisconsin.
