I used to gas up at Aziz all the time because their price is fairly competitive and they accept credit cards (although the Arco gas station at the other corner is always priced 5-15 cents/gal lower, even the cash price), but this Valero gas station is badly in need of a remodel, or at least a good cleaning. The "hold" switches at the pumps often don't work or are missing completely and you have to keep squeezing the trigger with your hand for gas to flow. LCD screens on the pumps, relics from the late 90s, are barely readable in daylight through an inch of dust. Squeegees - when they are available, which is usually not the case - are worn and useless to clean a windshield, and dipped in filthy water that must not have been replenished in ages. Paper towel / tissues dispensers are chronically empty. Pump handles are greasy and gross, my guess is nobody has wiped them clean in months. Worse yet, there are no hand sanitizer or wipes in sight to clean your hands after you have touched those bacteria-laden handles to fill up. Everything looks filthy, dusty and is often covered with graffiti. The "convenience store" inside is cramped and manned by rude employees. Vehicles in various states of disrepair are parked everywhere around the attached garage and it is often difficult to maneuver to get to an island. On top of everything else, my company's VISA card only allows me to buy $75 in gas there, even though the sticker on the pump says VISA purchases should allow up to $125.00 I have a big tank and, with today's fuel prices, $75 often doesn't fill her up. That's probably a limitation of Valero and not Aziz's fault, and yet at every other gas station I don't have that silly limitation. Too bad because Mr Aziz is a nice guy otherwise, but for someone stopping by quickly just to get gas that's not quite enough to make up for the sorry state of his gas station.
