Dr. David Wulf, has been providing medicine and surgery as well as vaccinations to dogs and cats for over 40 years. He will work with you to help you provide the quality health care you want for your pet. His goal is to be your other “family doctor”.
Behavioral Counseling
Dr. Wulf has experience to provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Comprehensive Examination
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of physical examinations every 6 months. All body systems are checked from head to paw. Every animal will receive an ear, eye, and skin exam, oral cavity check, and a thoracic exam, which involves listening to the heart and lungs. Once yearly appropriate lab work will be performed for your pet, such as heartworm testing for dogs and intestinal parasite testing for dogs and cats. In middle aged and older patients, we recommend annual senior wellness lab work, which may allow us to diagnose a potential problem early before clinical signs occur.

Heartworm Testing - We test for heartworms yearly to ensure that your pet is free of this deadly disease. This is a simple test using a small drop of blood drawn from your pet by Dr. Wulf.
Pain Management
One of our top priority is controlling your pet's discomfort. Dr. Wulf takes all necessary steps to relieve any pain before, during, and after your pet's surgical procedure. We also know that with proper pain control for all surgeries, the time it takes for your pet to heal is lessened.

Infection Treatment

Feline Retro Virus Treatment
Feline Leukemia Virus/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus - These diseases are a major cause of illness and death. Both FeLV and FIV viruses are infectious by contact with other cats carrying these viruses. This makes testing so important especially when introducing a new cat to a household. Ask any member of our staff for more information about testing.
Ear Infection Treatment
Microscope Evaluation/Cytology - Cytology can be used to diagnose and treat various conditions including ear infections, skin infections, dermal and subcutaneous masses, as well as lymph node aspirations.

Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Radiographs are fundamental in diagnosing certain medical and surgical problems. We perform thoracic, abdominal and spinal x-rays routinely, with pets either awake or anesthetized. These aid in the diagnosis of intervertebral disc or spinal disease, as well as diagnosis of elbow and hip dysplasia.

Veterinary Surgery
Our complete surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. Dr. Wulf performs ovariohysterectomies (spays), castrations (neuters), tumor removals, surgical biopsies, and a variety of soft tissue surgeries.
Spaying and Neutering
We used to recommend that all puppies and kittens have an ovariohysterectomy (spay) or castration (neuter) by six months of age to ensure a healthier life. Over the last few years research suggests there may be benefit to waiting later, especially in larger breeds or in pure breed pets. Feel free to ask Dr Wulf what is best for your pet in your household.

Laboratory Services
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs. Our in-house laboratory, as well as our referral laboratory, allow Dr.Wulf to evaluate the total body functions of your pet, including the liver and kidney, to diagnose more specific diseases by testing cortisol levels and thyroid levels. We offer high quality radiology and ultrasound for diagnosing and monitoring our patients. Fluid therapy monitored by Dr. Wulf and staff in our intensive care suite when needed is important for the special needs of our patients.
