Horrible Experience. Avoid at all Costs

Never in my life have I been treated to so poorly by a salon as I have by James Salon Spa in Fort Collins. James Salon Spa bills itself as a Premier Provider of AVEDA services but my experience has been so poor that I feel compelled to write this review to warn any other unsuspecting guests. I have only chosen AVEDA Salons for my hair services for over 15 years and I can tell you that these guys suck. I went to the salon in Fort Collins on campus and instantly found myself struggling to find the location. It’s really not convenient for anyone other than student who just walk-in. The décor of the salon was hideous and the stylist that I had, Heidi was so tatted up as to look like she belonged in a tattoo parlor vs. a high-end hair salon. My stylist was friendly but I never had a sense that she was in control of my haircut. She was tentative throughout the cut and did not instill in me any confidence in her abilities. Sure enough, when I returned home and washed and styled my hair myself, it was a bad haircut. A couple of days later I went to the other location in Fort Collins off campus and if you can believe it, my experience got even worse. The manager of three of James’ salons, a short, blond haired woman was rude and started making excuses for this poor cut. Leslie, a stylist that was enlisted to check out my cut concurred that it was a bad cut and that there was nothing more she could do for me until my hair grew out. When I went to speak with the manager, she kept telling me that my hair looked “JUST FINE.” Who wants a JUST FINE haircut especially from an AVEDA salon? Wait, it gets worse. The blond manager told me she could not make any adjustments or considerations for this poor experience I was having. That she needed to clear anything she did with James. After 2 ½ weeks I called the main salon and asked to speak to James. I was told that he was out of town and would return the following week. 10 days later I called the salon and spoke to the same person, Eileen and was told that she had spoken to James and that it was in his court to deal with me now. I was flabbergasted that this “Premier Provider” of the AVEDA experience was treating me so poorly. It’s unfortunate that though they somehow got the small town AVEDA franchise for Greeley and Fort Collins, they have no idea how to treat their clients. I would highly recommend that you reconsider your choice to get services at any James Salon and that perhaps you consider another AVEDA Salon such as Trios Salon Spa & Store, Europa Colour Salon Spa or Ten Salon & Spa.
