Moshi Moshi Motors

I do not write reviews, and actually this is my first review ever! As a disclaimer, our experience with Moshi Moshi Motors was closer to the beginning of the year and the experience has bothered me so much that I thought needed to let people know how Moshi Moshi Motors runs their business...



So, after much research on companies to purchase a B20B for my boyfriend's Honda Civic Hatch we decided on Moshi Moshi Motors because of their price, warranty, etc. We called, explained that we were coming from San Diego, and placed a deposit via credit card for the 1 motor they had. All good, right...



So when my boyfriend arrived to pick up the motor, he was told that it was SOLD!!!!!! How could that be, we put a deposit down on it! Apparently, these people don't talk to each other and another employee sold it. After my boyfriend got noticeably upset, they said they had another one to give us. Great! We loaded it up and took it home.



A few days later (when we actually had some time) we decided to open it up and check it out. As soon as we took off the valve cover, we saw rusted cams and sea water!!! My boyfriend immediately called Moshi Moshi Motors to tell them what we found. They didn't really seem surprised and said that they didn't have any B20Bs available but that they were expecting a shipment and we'd get the first one they got. Great, understanding the situation, we waited...and waited...and waited for them to get one in after being told every time we called that it would be here in a few days...complete with the "it's in port and is waiting for clearance from customs"...etc.). Oh did I mention the fact that we'd have to come pick it up which meant another tank of gas to go from San Diego to Gardena....



After 3 WEEKS of waiting and getting the same story, we were done! We decided to return the engine and get one from Big O Motors here in San Diego. So, onto another trip all the way up to Gardena...



Funny when we returned the engine, no one seemed to be surprised. Seems like they knew exactly what they had given us. It was almost like they had given it to us to buy some time (to fix their mistake in selling an engine that already had money down on it). They refunded us the money and that was it. Didn't even apologize to us for having to make the additional trip (120 miles each way)!!!



STAY AWAY FROM MOSHI MOSHI MOTORS!!!! Go with a reputable company like Big O Motors in San Diego or H Motors in Los Angeles!
