New owner bought the restaurant about 2 years ago and they've changed things for the better!! They installed a bar in the back, more tvs, but left the place family friendly. They also have a great fajita special on Wednesdays after 4 p.m. They're different from the regular fajitas they have the rest of the week. The owner used to own a restaurant in Fort Worth previously and it's his special recipe. My other favorite is the brisket tacos they have every Friday until 3 p.m. just delish. And it's really cool that they have flaming margaritas!

Disappointed

My husband & I were seated and the Guy that seated us was Directing my husband where to sit and He then, while I was Already seated was Telling me to seat in that same seat he wanted me hubby to seat in, And I was already seated, I had Surgery less than a week ago. I asked the server for Brkfst and he said No But we have Lunch specials, they didn't have Decaf Coffee Available.

The food was Good, But The Service Stunk. That Greeter guy & other Servers were Standing at the Front a few feet from Us, Jus staring at us Making us Really Uncomfortable. Then our server Rarely came to our table and then didn't even offer us Dessert and just Brought us our Check and didn't even Thank us or ask us if we wanted something else. Then we stood up to leave and the Bus lady was right in front of us picking up our plates, we couldn't even get out of there, she was right in the way. Our Experience was Horrible and we will Never go back there again or Recommend to anyone.

I've never wanted to leave a r...

I've never wanted to leave a review before, but eating at La Familia last night has compelled me to. It definitely ranks as one of the worst Mexican food restaurants I've ever eaten ate, based on food alone. Although I've never eaten at Panchos before, I can only imagine La Familia being one tiny step above them in quality - but at least you get a buffet at Panchos !

O.K., enough ranting...let me get into specifics: 1) All the food on my plate tasted very pre-salted (enchiladas, rice, beans, sauce) 2) All of the food I received seemed less than fresh and more like something that was scooped out of a cafeteria 3) Spent $10-$15 for this sub-par food (don't know the exact cost, because I didn't pay) 4) My ice-tea had a distinct tap water after taste 5) Waitress was very nice, but asked if she could take our plate literally every 3-5 mins (interrupting any discussion we were having - quite annoying) 6) They offer no deserts 7) The waiters sneak up on "Birthday" people with a super loud "HEY!!" - although I think this was unique, I guess this combined with the 3-5 min waiter interruptions were made for a lot of chaos.

I hope this review helps someone.

We used to eat there every weekend when it was in the old place (on 7th I believe). We only went there 2ce after they moved to the current location. Both times my food was cold. The quality and atmosphere of the place definetely suffered with the move.

Doesn't even deserve one star! HORRIBLE!!! At first we thought it was great because we were greeted with a handshake and quickly seated. But the sour cream sauce is supposedly made with lime juice. When we told the waiter it tasted like the sour cream went bad they WOULDN'T TAKE IT BACK! Then when it came time to pay out they LOST MY CREDIT CARD! After 10 minutes of frantic searching they finally found it. Wouldn't say what had happened and wouldn't comp the meal or anything. We asked for a free dessert and the waiter LAUGHED AT US and said they don't do anything like that. (We didn't know they didn't serve dessert and he could have offered a free meal coupon.) Now I have to check my credit card like a hawk to make sure they didn't steal the number or double charge it.

Highly recommended for their outstanding service, friendly atmosphere, and the absolute best Mexican food anywhere in the metroplex! The fish tacos are incredible as are the quesadillas. They also have the best salsa in town.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant.

I was told this restaurant was great so we just had to try it...UNFORTUNATELY we were greatly disappointed! We never actually got to taste the food so I cannot comment on the quality but I can comment on what terrible customer service by the MANAGEMENT that we experienced. First off, there is not a hostess at this restaurant to take names and seat you accordingly. This is a must for a restaurant that is as busy as they appear to be. Second, the man that seats you is very unprofessional, rude, and definitely non customer friendly. When speaking to the "manager" about this issue she was also very rude and non customer friendly. They basically told us that we could just leave. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right" motto? Believe me, it is not used at this restaurant.

The best decision I ever made!

Best Mexican Food in Cowtown. The Fish tacos are wonderful as are the enchiladas, fajitas, nachos, etc. You won't be disappointed. If there is a wait at the door it is because so many people love the food. The food and service are well worth any wait.
