Columbus Middle School is located in Detroit and is a part of Detroit Public Schools. The middle school provides academic instruction and enrichment programs to students in grades six through eight. The school s core curriculum includes English, reading, math, science, social studies, foreign languages, information technology, art, music, physical education, industrial arts, computer applications and family living skills. Columbus Middle School also promotes various sports and cultural activities. The school s sports programs include basketball, cheerleading, martial arts, and track and field. In addition, Columbus Middle School operates a library that has a collection of books and periodicals that complements the academic curriculum.
