Defendant asserted in response to the Motion for Summary Judgment – and for the first time in this adversary proceeding, or the prior civil action and criminal action – that Defendant’s actions were in self-defense and therefore the settlement should be discharged.

The new homestead exemption is $250,000 (or $350,000 for disabled or seniors).
