Oakwood Skilled Nursing Center

I don't believe my mother would have the care she needs were it not for the fact that my sister, who is a former nurse-aide from Oakwood Hosp. is there every day to care for mom.



Even with us visiting, ringing for a nurse often has to be followed up by a "hall search" by me or one of my siblings. Too much "socializing in the halls" and a "lackadazical attitude" worries me for mom if we are not present. We are often called to assist residents when they are not tended to by staff.

DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE THERE, THIS PLACE IS VERY BAD, OUR MOTHER WAS NOT PROPERLY TAKEN CARE OF, THEY GAVE HER THE WRONG PERSONS FOOD, A SANDWHICH (IF YOU COULD CALL IT THAT) THAT I WOULD NOT FEED TO MY DOG THEY DID NOT EVEN CUT IT IN HALF, DID NOT GIVE HER HER MEDICATION, EVEN THOUGH WE MET WITH THE ADMINISTRATOR AS TO WHAT TYPE OF DIET SHE WAS TO BE ON, HER MEDICATIONS SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE GIVEN, THEY CALL ME AT APPROX. 7;00 IN THE MORNING ASKING ME WHAT TYPE OF FOOD SHE IS SUPPOSE TO BE GIVEN, OUR MOTHER WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THERE FOR SOME SHORT TIME PHYSICAL THERPY AFTER BEING DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL (DOCTORS WILL NOT RELEASE YOU IF THEY FEEL YOU ARE NOT WELL ENOUGH) WITHIN 24 HOURS, SHE IS BACK AT THE HOSPITAL VERY, VERY SICK DUE TO THERE LACK OF CARING, AND INCOMPATENCE, I COULD GO ON A LOT LONGER ABOUT THERE LACK OF CARING AND INCOMPATENCE BUT I WILL NOT, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, A THOUSAND TIMES PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE LIKE A PARENT, A BROTHER OR SISTER, A UNCLE OR AUNT THERE, FIND SOME OTHER PLACE, THIS PLACE IS BAD, SERVICE IS BAD, ATTITUDE IS BAD, THEY ARE INCOMPADENT AND NON CARING, PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE NO MATTER HOW GOOD OF A PLACE YOU MAY HAVE HEARD IT IS, BELIEVE ME IT IS NOT, THANK YOU FOR READING THIS, AND AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE

I have to disagree with the previous review. I found myself there after my hip surgery I went there for rehab. The PT, OT and even the nursing restorative was top notch. Althought the food wasn't the best, it still was pretty good and had a good variety. My nurse and aide were very caring and compassionate. I found all the staff to be nice and willing to do a little more than what was expected. The room was kept clean. They could use a little more activities.

I had several stays here. If it wasnt so clean I wouldnt recommend it. The staff is verry slow and extremely lazy. Press a call light and pray they answer you in an hour. The food is horrible. Oakwood Hospital is gourmet compared to the garbage they serve here. The benefits to a stay here is only thge cleanliness And the outdoor scenery. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
