Horrible!!!! They took 5 weeks to complete my car! Charged my insurance three times twice after I complained! They called every week extending the time on how long it was going to take to be complete then finally they called and said it was done. WRONG!!! Two huge scratches on the side, the headliner (brand new, had to be ordered) was covered in grease finger prints, the floor board was covered in chocolate milk stains (they charged my insurance $300 to clean). We did not agree to take it back, they gave us a rental as we already turned the insurances rental in, about 3 days later they call us again to come pick it up, the button on the steering wheel fell off, the steering wheel itself wasn't put on correctly, and to top it off the front fender wasn't aligned correctly. Horrible company, RUDE employees, extremely slow and horrible customer service. If I could give negative stars I would!

Overall

It took 6 weeks for Jack Demmer to repair our Escape. We continually got the run-around as to when it would be done, and toward the end, it took them 2 weeks to complete 2 tasks (painting and airbags).

When my husband picked it up, he immediately discovered shoddy repairs. Seals on the rear driver side door are torn and loose. They don’t appear to have been replaced with new ones. Some of the plastic molding on the interior also appears to have been reused instead of replaced and are also loose. Additionally, the driver side air bag light is on, indicating that the air bag is not functioning properly. So now not only are we driving an unsafe and poorly repaired vehicle, we are going to be expected to bring our truck back to Demmer for repairs to the original repairs, and be without our vehicle yet again. This is completely unacceptable.

Unfortunately I was in a prett...

Unfortunately I was in a pretty bad accident. I didn't really know where to take my car, but someone I know suggested Demmer. I was really happy to find out that they were one of the repair places my insurance deals directly with. I dealt with Jose. He was really nice, and made sure he noted everything I was concerned about. He let me know that they could get started right away, but because there was alot of damage it would take about a week. It was awesome they could get me in right away, but my heart dropped because I didn't have any other car or ride and I needed to be able to get to work. My friend said they had loaners, but Jose said they were all out. Before I even said anything he asked one of the ladies in the office to call Enterprise for a rental car. Again, heart hit stomach. I can't afford the extra charge to get the rental car coverage on my insurance and I sure as heck couldn't afford a rental car, but what was I going to do? I needed my car fixed and I couldn't drive it in that condition (seriously it was taken the the shop with a tow truck). I think the lady who called the rental car company noticed the look of dread on my face and told me not to worry. She said they were going to take care of it. I totally didn't expect them to pay for my rental car, but they did! Every time I called (yeah, I'm that customer) the ladies in the office were always friendly. I got a call the day before my car was scheduled to be done to let me know that they finished ahead of time, and I could come pick my baby up. My car looked great! I couldn't believe it! I felt a little guilty because they cleaned it inside and out and I'm kind of a pig in my car. Sorry car wash guy! I was so pleased with my experience. They took great care of me and my car. Though I hope I never have to use them again, if I ever need a body shop again I will be taking my car to Demmer.

I dropped my vehicle off on Th...

I dropped my vehicle off on Thursday evening for repair at the body shop located on N. Prospect in Dearborn. On Monday afternoon when I still had not rec'd a phone call as to what would need to be repaired on the vehicle, I called in and spent 20 minutes on the phone, 10 of those minutes being placed on hold repeatedly, while being bounced between 2 people who could not locate me in their system. The 1st woman I spoke with was rude and exasperated with me when she couldn't locate me in their system. I indicated that I had one of their "courtesy cars" and "how can I not be in your system?" and she still couldn't locate me. She then said that my car was already being worked on! I said that I requested to be notified of what needed to be repaired prior to the car being touched. Nothing was to be done until I authorized it. I was placed on hold again. Then I was transferred to a 2nd person, who wasn't given any information as to the reason for my call, who then asked me all the same questions again, gave me the same responses as the 1st person I spoke with and then I was promptly placed on hold for the 3rd time. When she came back on the phone she said that my car was not being worked on and that they were waiting for my insurance company to approve the estimate. I indicated that I had not rec'd a copy of that estimate that I had specifically requested when I dropped the car off. She said that she wouldn't be able to get that over to me until the next day b/c the employee that was working on wasn't in that day, the estimate was in his computer and his computer was password protected. ???? Your business hinges on 1 person and no one else has seen this mystery estimate or has access to it?? I then asked her when was the estimate sent over to the insurance company and she indicated that it was sent the following morning after I dropped my car off. I hung up with the body shop and immediately called my insurance liaison and they confirmed that they had never rec'd and insurance quote. I called Demmer's Body Shop back and informed that they were not to touch the car and that I would be coming by to pick it up and take it to someone else to work on my vehicle and they seemed to be surprised and confused as to why I would do that. I wasn't planning on leaving my vehicle with a company that lacks any organization or attention to detail when that is supposed to be their primary asset. If you can't find me in your system after 3 days of my vehicle being in your care then how could I trust that you would properly fix my car? I will never go back and have recommended that all friends and family utilize someone else for their repairs.
