Dr. Darren Pike is a highly trained and skilled Periodontist, performing all surgical aspects of implant dentistry and Periodontics. He grew up in Coral Springs, FL and graduated from the University of Florida with both a Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Dr. Pike earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University where he graduated in the top of his class. Dr. Pike was the only recipient in his class to receive an award and scholarship for his educational excellence and outstanding achievement in implant dentistry. He continued at Nova Southeastern University to complete an additional three years of specialty training in Periodontology. During his residency, Dr. Pike held the position as a clinical teacher for dental students at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Pike has lectured for the Florida Academy of Periodontists and is currently a clinical advisor for NEOSS Inc. Dr. Pike has been trained by some of the country’s leading implant and periodontal specialists. He has done research in the fields of periodontal laser therapy and bone regeneration. Dr. Pike is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the Academy of Osseointegration (AO). He currently resides in Boca Raton, FL with his wife Talia.

A: Most patients report minimal to no pain at all. The procedure is done with local anesthetic (“Novocaine”). Oftentimes, some post-operative discomfort can be experienced if an extraction of an existing tooth is necessary or bone grafting. This can be managed with prescription narcotics. Most return to work the day-of or the next day. Your surgeon will discuss your case with you in detail prior to you committing to surgery. If you are nervous, you can take a pill and use concious sedation, but most of the time this is not necessary.

In South Florida, Debby attended Miami-Dade Community College and Florida International University, and attained an A.S. in Dental Hygiene in 1975. She has worked in specialty dental offices (Periodontist) in addition to General Dentistry. She has been in our current office for 10 years now.
