My kid attends this school.....lots of communication, esp. by email. If you are one of those needy parents that needs a case by case report on your child's day, this is not the place for you. The french model does not support it, and neither does most of the rest of the world anyway. I am happy with the school. I with they had a middle school entry level for non French speaking kids.

I have been sending our daughter to this school for 5 years now (since pre-K) and I have had only good experiences with DIS. The teachers know what they are doing with the kids and are quite personable with them. The French way of teaching is different, nothing more. The children learn the system from the start so there is no problem. I have never had to deal with bullying (the teachers and students are orientated on the subject) and while there have been a few issues here and there its no more or less than what I would expect from any school. There is no "anti-Americanism" since the teachers ask to come here. The new high school is at the UT Dallas campus where DIS students will have access to UT facilities. Graduates from DIS earn a year of college at UT. Finally, DIS offers the FB and EB programs, which will boost college interests nationwide and worldwide. Easily the best bang for the buck AND your child is light years ahead of the national average. It's really a no brainer.

Great Concept, Poor Implementation Dallas International School is the only school in Dallas that offers children a bi-lingual education. However, the school is poorly organized, the communication between the administration and the parents is virtually non-existent, and there is, to a large degree, some anti-American sentiment that goes with the environment. The French culture is the prevailing influence in this school, meaning that any American influence is taught within the confines of the limited hours of the English class. As the school is largely supported financially via the French Government and the French company Mission Laique, the primary goal is to educate the French nationals located in Dallas. Either the non- French speaking child can easily grasp the curriculum set out by the French government or they will be behind in the class and there is no extra help for them to catch up. The school does not offer a summer course for no

This is a great school. Their curriculum gives children an opportunity to be well prepared for the challenges of the globally interconnected world. Very professional French and Mexican native teachers.
