The Standards require hospitals to provide diagnostic services (x-ray and laboratory) so that they can quickly and accurately diagnose your pet.

Dental Radiology
– Estimated Cost: We will give you an estimate of what the procedure will cost. Frequently, we cannot tell the extent of what is needed until we have additional information gained when your pet is under anesthesia. This occurs for two major reasons. Firstly, pets cannot communicate the extent of their pain or suffering. Secondly, we are unable to perform some diagnostic tests, such as dental x-rays, in an awake animal. For this reason, there can be a significant gap between the projected low end of the estimate and the high end. Should costs be a concern, you may request additional communication during the procedure to be part of the decision-making process every step of the way.
Microchipping
Every year, thousands and thousands of pets go missing. Not knowing where your pet is or how to bring them back can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s a tragedy that happens all too often. But there is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your pet’s safety and retrieval should they ever become lost. Microchipping is a standard procedure that implants a tiny chip underneath your pet’s fur. It is a painless and relatively fast procedure, and is completely safe. This microchip is registered with your pet’s vital information, and can be scanned by any veterinarian or animal shelter so that they can return your pet directly to you.

Senior Pet Care
Loyal senior pets deserve the best in veterinary care. As your pet grows older, his/her health care needs change. The age at which a pet is considered a “senior” varies by breed and species. For small and medium sized canine breeds, their senior years begin between the ages of 8 and 9. Large-breed dogs are considered to be senior at the age of 6. For our feline companions, they are considered to be senior between the ages of 9 and 10.

A veterinary house call can be more comfortable for your pet and more convenient for you. Bear Creek Veterinary Care’s house call service enables us to offer many of the same services performed in our veterinary hospital to be performed in the convenience of your home.
