Overall

My sister and I have doctors in CO Springs. We were so thrilled to have found Black Bear Rest. We ate there every time we went to Springs. We began taking our families and friends. The food was great and the staff so friendly and nice. Then my sister became quite ill and we weren't able to go for awhile. Just today we got to eat there. After we ate and were about to pay the bill, my sister became ill, she could not make it to the rest room. The staff brought her a bucket and she tried to do this very discreately. Then the manager came over and was insensed and rude, can she go to the restroom. We said sorry no, but she want off saying very rudely I'll get your check for you. I did complain to the waitress saying how rude she wAS and she didn't know the story. All the other staff were kind and caring. With a manager like this it won't be long before you have no business which is a real shame. I know our families and friends will never eat there again. There are lots of other nice places in CO Springs.

I went with a friend for break...

I went with a friend for breakfast at the Black Bear Diner and was very impressed with the food, service and the price. I decided to treat myself to take out dinner. I requested that my burger and fries be wrapped in tin foil to keep my food warm. My burger had tin foil AROUND it but not underneath it. My sandwich sat on top of the tomato and lettuce so it was quite soggy. My fries were not wrapped and quite cold. I could live with that but it was the desert that was awful. The pie crust tasted like yellow wax. The blackberry filling was a gelatinous and tasteless mess with not a blackberry to be found. I was very disappointed and not likely to go back.

Never disapoints

I have eaten at the Black Bear Diner about 4 times and have never had a bad experience. Their food is everything you'd want when you go out: delicious, inexpensive, and they give you a huge portion size. I'm not a mountain lodge kinda girl, but I find their restaurant very calming and relaxing. It's a real treat.
