Hurricanes Bar & Grill

Hurricanes is a classic neighborhood tavern ... the kinda place where everyone knows your name.



Beer and drink prices are very reasonable. The basic bar fare is very good, and a good value -- great burgers, hot chicken strips, sandwiches, and appetizers. And good food and drink specials including Tuesday tacos and Wednesday wings.



Good jukebox, and four or five TVs for watching sporting events. And a nice patio area for sitting outside on nice days.



Like many neighborhood bars, the crowd changes considerably over the course of an evening, with an older, more blue collar crowd of regulars after work and early evenings, gradually giving way to a younger crowd as it gets later.



The bar is clean, especially since Illinois passed the smoking ban a couple years ago.



Owner Tim Johnson and his friendly staff run a good business ... worth dropping in for a beer if you're in downtown Collisville
