The Medical University of South Carolina Department of Neurosurgery Services was founded in 2004 following the merger of the neurology, neurosurgery and physiology departments. The Medical University of South Carolina Department of Neurosurgery Services residency training program is approved by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. It specializes in kyphoplasty, which is a treatment for patients with painful traumatic and osteoportic compression fractures.
