I paid Dr. Fiscus $3500 to put a bridge in my lower front teeth. It was clear during this process that he was inexperienced regarding bridges.

The “permanent” bridge which was supposed to last for years, was loose after only a month. After getting two other opinions, the general consensus was that this bridge should have never been placed in the front teeth, and was bound to fail.

I am now paying $4500 to have this mistake corrected. Dr. Fiscus has offered very little in the way of compensation. His first offer was to charge me an extra $800 dollars to try to fix it, and eventually said he would try to fix it for free, but at this point I had lost all faith in him.

Dental Examination
We accept all insurance plans and will submit your claims. We are preferred providers for Delta Dental Premier Option, but not for all insurance plans. If you have another insurance plan, you will receive your out-of-network benefits, which often will completely cover exams and cleanings. If you have questions about your insurance, we are happy to answer them and to inform you of your benefits.

Teeth Cleaning
If your dentist suggested teeth cleanings every three or four months, you most likely have or had adult periodontitis, as this is the treatment recommended by the American Academy of Periodontology. If this is the case, more frequent cleanings are essential to ensuring the condition is properly treated, as periodontitis can potentially lead to many problems with your teeth. We do not believe your insurance company should dictate your health care. Dentists are the only professionals able to legally diagnose and recommend dental treatment, based on your unique needs, no matter your insurance benefits. The treatment a dentist recommends for you is the treatment needed to keep your teeth as healthy as possible, regardless of insurance benefits and costs. If you choose not to move forward with our recommended treatment, we cannot be held responsible for the results.

Fillings
Restorative dentistry is the branch of treatments that focuses on restoring the function and appearance of teeth and surrounding structures that have been damaged due to trauma or disease. Some patients require full-mouth rehabilitation, which we are uniquely able to provide. Dental Implants Dental implants are a tooth-replacement option consisting of a titanium post that is surgically inserted into the gums and then allowed to fuse to the jawbone over the course of a few months. This post will serve as the “root” of the artificial tooth. After the fusion occurs, we cover the post with a crown, which will help the implant look like and function as a real tooth. Amalgam Removal If you have an old silver amalgam filling and are concerned about mercury exposure, we offer safe amalgam removal procedures. We can then replace your filling with a tooth-colored composite filling that will blend in seamlessly with your smile.

Pediatric Dentistry We recommend that a child visit the dentist for their first appointment around the time of their first birthday. During your child’s first visit, we will give them a fun tour of our office, and Dr. Fiscus will take a look at their teeth to make sure no decay is developing.
