Michael Karlin is a California attorney and an English solicitor who has nearly 30 years of experience advising clients on the taxation of cross-border transactions and investments. He began his career at DJ Freeman in London. He was a partner for many years at a leading U.S. firm, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and spent three years as an international tax partner of KPMG LLP. On November 1, 2005, Fabienne Struell, a California attorney who was also admitted in France, became Of Counsel to the firm. Michael has particular experience in structuring international businesses and finance transactions, advising on cross-border taxation, tax treaties, withholding taxes and the taxation of e-business and planning international trusts and estates.
