Â Â Â vi) Gingivectomies: a gingivectomy is a procedure in which gum tissue is trimmed from around the teeth. This may be done in cases where there is excess gum tissue or when we desire a change in the gum level around the teeth. Gingivectomies can be done with a soft tissue laser, electro-cautery, or with a scalpel blade.

Dentures
Dentures are a natural-looking replacement for patients that have a large portion of missing teeth.Â Dentures will fill in a portion of the patient’s natural smile in order to restore function and appearance.
Overdentures
Implant-supported “Overdenture”: Â Sometimes, a patient may have an existing denture that is unstable while chewing or talking. This is especially common for lower complete dentures. A very simple and cost-effective way to make the denture incredibly stable and more comfortable to wear is to support the denture with two or more implants. Typically the existing denture is modified to “snap” onto special attachments affixed to the implants. That means the denture can still be taken out to clean but is much more stable while eating or speaking. There are many versions of overdentures. The design depends on the amount of bone available for placing implants, the number of implants placed, and of courseÂ the patient’s budget.

Teeth Whitening
Â Â Â iv) Tooth Whitening: whitening is sometimes referred to as â€œbleaching,â€ although household bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is never used. Whitening works by chemical removal of stains from the surface and from within the tooth structure. The chemicalsâ€”either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxideâ€”are applied to the teeth in gel form, using a soft plastic carrier called a â€œtray.â€ In some circumstances, a light or laser may be used to enhance the chemical reaction of the gels, thus speeding up the process. More concentrated whitening gels require a protective mask over the gum tissue to protect them and are only applied in a dental office, as opposed to a home-use system which uses less concentrated gels.
