Service

I have lived at this apt for the past year, and I've recently resigned my lease. The apartments are a little old, but they've been maintained well, and the price of rent is affordable. The location is great.

Although I had a negative experience, when I contacted management, the issue was fixed immediately. I've really enjoyed staying at PDP.

Worst apartment ever! They put me in an apartment they said they would repair and never did. The doors are broken. The drawers in the kitchen are falling apart. There are creepy white bugs crawling everywhere. It's next to busy traffic so that's all u hear when u sleep. The walls are thin so I hear everything from next door. It's the worst experience of my life . Save your time and money and don't consider this place

Place du Plantier (PDP) used to be a good place to live until Latter & Blum took over the management of the complex about a year and a half ago. They have:

1. Increased my rent by $50 a month in a year. They really don't want people to renew. They offer no renewal specials. We used to get iPads, TVs, or a rent credit for renewing.

2. Increased pet rent for 2 pets to $40 instead of $20 a month

3. Eliminated almost all events in the complex. If they do have an event, it's generally in the middle of the day during the work week.

4. They threaten eviction for EVERY THING. We get nasty notices pretty frequently. The monthly newsletter begins with an all caps section fussing at people regarding various policies.

5. They have cut the office hours significantly. The old management kept extended office hours for the convenience of residents. They really do not care about you once you sign the lease and move in. I asked at one point why the office started closing at 5:30 and was told "we can't tour and lease after 5:30". If you need to talk to someone or pick up a package and you work full time, you are screwed.

6. They got rid of the ability to talk to someone after hours in a call center. You now leave a message for the on-call person and are told they will call you back. 3 calls and still waiting on a response to any of the calls. They also restricted what's considered an emergency maintenance request. It doesn't matter that we live in South Louisiana and the heat is oppressive, your AC is no longer an emergency.

I do not recommend this complex to anyone. All the owner and Latter & Blum cares about is your money.

Sure this place boasts new management. However, all the kids in the office just want you to sign a lease, and then they throw you under a bus. The maintenance can't get anything done, and the way they carry themselves is just plain unprofessional. On top of that, they are extremely inconsiderate and rude. The apartments they give you look nothing like the ones they show you. Overall, this place is just out to get your money.

HORRIBLE!! Worst customer service of anywhere I have ever lived. The apartments are falling apart and the maintenance workers are useless. I lived here due to last minute circumstances and regretted it immediately. The residents are extremely sketchy and I rarely felt comfortable walking from my car to apartment at night. Over the course of 9 months, I was without electricity twice and the A/C broke once - all issues took days to fix and they front office suggested that I stay in a hotel. I was even forced to move to a different apartment on 2 different occasions due to their inability to fix issues in my original apartment. My maintenance calls would never be documented so nothing was ever fixed. I've hated living here and would HIGHLY suggest looking elsewhere before signing a lease with PDP.

You can find better

You can find better. The apartments are crap. The are constantly mowing the grass but can't upgrade nor maintain there apartments. There is a HUGE problem with silverfish, spiders, and rats. I bleach my entire apartment. I cleaned from head to toe and they still won't go away. They do not keep up with their pest control spraying even though they put out flyers that they will be coming... THEY NEVER DO. The neighbors are rude. The grass smells like dog crap and no one cleans up after there dogs. They allow pets to linger in the office. No one in the office knows anything. Maintenance has no regards to the tenants home. If they dirty up something in your apartment, they wont clean it up unless you let them have it. They don't like to take responsibility of their mistakes. The area is not safe. People like to linger in front of your doors without consideration of anyone. People are out all kinds of the night. This place sucks. I am so through with this place.

This apartment complex is the ...

This apartment complex is the most poorly run complex in Baton Rouge. They hike up their prices so that way they can do a "move in special" to give you an incentive to live here. I was promised an updated unit; it wasn't. I was told that I was getting linoleum "wood looking" floors, and I never got them, but the floors that were here were coming apart. I told the complex UPON moving in that the floors were coming up, and NO ONE ever came to fix them (even up to this point). I had to chase the AGM down to figure out what happened because I NEVER heard from them about the issue. I ended up gluing the floors down myself. I had an extremely old (and stained) dishwasher, my apartment was dirty when I moved in, there were (and still are) holes where the wall and the floor are supposed to meet (HOLES that you can drop and loose things into), and the maintenance sucks (because the office doesn't keep an accurate account). I have had a pest problem SINCE I've been here (silverfish, BATS, RATS, spiders), and I've constantly told the office. I had to spray myself for a few months because NO ONE ever came. I take it they put new sheet rock up in my apartment, but you can see EVERY PIECE in the ENTIRE apartment. They didn't even the walls out at all, so anything i had on the walls poked out to the point to where if I closed my door, things would fall off of the wall (and I'm not slamming my door). My air filter was only changed TWICE (and the second time they did it was just now, TWO WEEKS before I move out!!), and you can't tell the management, because they catch attitudes with you for being mad!! The GENERAL MANAGER signs for packages, and doesn't log them (so you won't get your mail unless you keep on them about it). They don't keep an accurate log of anything. ANYTHING!! The neighborhood isn't that safe (there were a few incidents), they are CONSTANTLY mowing the grass, but they don't keep good care of the actual apartments inside or out), and the attitude of the complex management is ridiculous. Please live ANYWHERE ELSE but here! The staff is COMPLETELY unprofessional, and the parking sucks too.

Can Do Better!

The management is the biggest problem. They do not fix things in a timely manner. Ceiling leaked during a rain and management took two weeks before they even got someone out to look at it and by then the ceiling had fallen in and the carpet had gotten drenched and began to bring out the cat pee smell from previous renter and moldy smell from the dampness. Finally I rented a cleaner to clean it myself but someone finally came out after calling and complaining to every person in office for the two weeks straight. They did not contact us before letting people into the apartment just came home and found greasy tools on furniture. The documented list of things wrong that you complete when you first move in has not been dealt with 4 months later. Laundry mats have machines that take your money and do not work and management will do nothing to fix. If you choose to stay here anyway than make sure you see the apartment you are going to get because the apartment I actually got was crappy to the point they had painted the countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. So after the first cleaning the paint started to come up and they look disgusting. They even painted the bar in the closet that your clothes hang on and everytime you move a hangar the paint flecks off onto your clothes. The only reason we chose this place is that they let you have big dogs but no one cleans behind them and get disgusting seeing dog poop everywhere.

Place du Plantier Apartments are a fairly average place to live in Baton Rouge. Located about ten minutes away from LSU campus, its price range is mediocre. The community is nice, however. People tend to be quiet, but the Resident Assistants provide many opportunities for social gatherings such as crawfish boils and guitar hero tournaments. The facilities look nice, but maintenance can be painfully slow. It took nearly three weeks for them to get the mold out from behind my refrigerator. Also, living directly on Lee Drive is a slight problem. Not only can traffic be difficult in the mornings and evenings, but noise pollution from the passing cars is constant.

Badly Run Complex

This complex is horribly organized. You never meet the manager, and when you move out, they do everything to make you pay.
