Dental Examination
Your first visit will be a comprehensive examination and assessment of your case, including a review of information provided by your dentist. If necessary, diagnostic x-rays will be taken, so that your situation can be thoroughly evaluated and the ideal treatment plan can be determined. Your doctor will discuss your diagnosis, explain procedures and sedation options, and create a treatment plan that best fits your individual needs. Any questions you may have will be addressed at this time.
X-rays

Crowns
One dental implant with a crown replaces a single tooth. We will insert a tiny sliver of biocompatible titanium into your jawbone and cap it with a cover screw or a healing cap. Over the next several months, the implant will fuse with the bone. We will then remove the cover and attach a high-quality, customized crown to the implant with a piece known as an abutment.
Bridges

Root Canal Treatment
The best option is to save an infected tooth by performing a root canal, but if this is not a solution, Dr. Steel can extract your tooth.

Dentures
We can stabilize a removable denture with just two dental implants, or use a handful of implants to permanently attach a full arch of fixed teeth that never leave your mouth. While traditional dentures restore just a small portion of bite strength and tend to slip and pinch, implant supported dentures allow you to bite and chew normally.

Dental Implants
Dental implants have become the gold standard to replace missing or failing teeth. Strong, stable, and durable, implants restore nearly all original bite strength. They also reverse jawbone loss and protect the neighboring teeth from shifting by replacing the tooth roots.

Jaw Surgery
General anesthesia is typically administered only for serious, hospital-based procedures such as corrective jaw surgery. Do not eat or drink anything for eight hours before surgery. You will be unconscious for the procedure and then given time to wake up in a recovery room. Bring someone with you to drive you home and stay with you throughout the night. Do not drive or operate machinery for at least 24 hours, or longer if you still feel groggy.
Pre-prosthetic Surgery
We provide a full range of oral surgeries, including impacted canine exposure, pre-prosthetic surgery, trauma surgery, oral pathology and more. If you or your child has had facial trauma, or are in need of oral surgery procedure contact us to learn how we can help.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Steel is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Dental Association, the New Mexico Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
