I have problems with chain mechanic shops like STS auto parts, Vespia Tires, Sears Tires, Jiffy Lube, and of course my local car dealer. With high hourly labor costs, persistent up-selling, over diagnosing the problem, etc, I have been forced to drive all the way out to Neubert's. I started going here since 2008 and have always been treated with care and respect. Unlike the places mentioned above, the labor costs at Neubert's are fair, have not risen much over the years, and they don't charge hourly labor rates for smaller repairs. They diagnose the issues fairly and I never came back or experience new issues after leaving their shop. I don't work on cars. If there were problems, I would not notice them until it was too late. But that never happened. They never up-sold me. They were resourceful with solutions to help me avoid costs many times more at a car dealer. There was a minor bump on the lower sash of my car, below the headlights. Since its plastic, they bumped it out with a baseball bat, and it cost me nothing. The car dealer would have charged me $2000+ to replace the entire section. When gasoline attendants gradually destroyed the spring of my gas tank by closing it roughly, I put a door stop under the latch in the driver side of my car to keep the gas tank lid open. After a car inspection, it was locked shut after the inspector removed the door stop. Neubert's simply bent the latch that locks the gas tank shut so that it would not be able to lock after being closed. I live in an area with very low crime so no one ever siphoned gas from my gas tank, and the state inspection never required that my gas tank lid be locked. The dealer would have charged me $1000 to replace the apparatus. Another example was when I wanted to max out the life of my old car and did not want to spend $3000 to replace the exhaust system, which had holes in it. Neubert's did a great welding job on it for only $700 and I got five more years out of my engine, as a result.

Overall
Neubert's Auto and Tire

I usually work on my own vehicles, unless I don't have a chance when something needs to be done. This was the case when my Ford Expedition and my father-in-laws Ford van needed their first 100k tuneup. My truck was running fine when it was dropped off, but not when I picked it up. Had hard time starting it in the morning and rough idle. Didn't have that problem before they touched it. Took it back just to hear them say "I don't know what's wrong with it" and will need to charge me a diagnostic fee to look at it again. Do these guys think their customer's are really that stupid or something? I didn't just fall off the apple cart. I've been repairing my own cars and others for over 25 years. A few weeks later I decided to check the spark plugs they said they'd put in and had paid for them to do the work. Guess what? They didn't replace all of the old plugs because a couple of them are really difficult to get to. Once I put all new plugs in it ran perfect! My father-in-law took his van over about the same time I did and I found out they didn't replace all of his spark plugs either when I checked. Bottom line... they are higher priced and lie to customers by not doing the work they are being paid full price to do. I can just imagine how many people they may have ripped off who may not be as familiar with what is going on. My advice if you need to have your car repaired? Take it to Absolute Auto Repair in Southampton. They are fair, honest and do the work they say they did. 609-859-2270.

my husband and i used to take ...

my husband and i used to take our cars here but we have found they aren't being honest with their customers. do not do business with them. if you take your car here, be prepared to expect other problems to mysteriously "appear" after you get it back. i know of air conditioners that did not work on two seperate vehicles after they were taken in for other problems. the one victim uses her truck to haul valuable animals and the other victim is an older gentleman. they tried to sell me a new battery but another repair facility charged up my old one and it worked fine. the third instance of their dishonesty had to do with them poking holes in a co-worker's exhaust pipe.
