Dr. Gulmen has participated in various areas of healthcare for over 30 years (15 of those years as a naturopathic physician). She contributed to public health research by interviewing homeless individuals for an HIV/TB transmission risk project for the University of California - San Francisco. She went on to conduct original basic science research in immunology and coordinate clinical research trials in rheumatology for the University of Chicago. Credentialed by the Connecticut Department of Children and Family Services, she has worked with special needs children in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to her private clinic, she has offered natural medicine in a variety of settings such as being part of the New York City marathon medical triage team and providing Reiki to patients at the oncology center at Yale New Haven Hospital. The depth and breadth of her experience allows her to offer comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients. Dr. Gulmen is a graduate of the University of California - Berkeley, the University of Chicago, the University of Bridgeport, and Yale University. She has completed additional studies in the Vedic arts including yoga (certified as a teacher), clinical Ayurveda (traditional Indian medicine), and Jyotish (Vedic astrology - three year program).
