Oral Cancer Screening
An oral cancer screening is quick and painless, and typically performed by a dentist during your bi-annual appointment. Your doctor will check your mouth, tongue and cheeks for any unusual looking bumps and sores. If found, an additional biopsy may be required to determine if oral cancer is present or not.

Teeth Cleaning
Prophylaxis is simply a medical term for a dental cleaning. While many people skip going to the dentist twice a year, a thorough dental treatment is imperative for good dental hygiene. During your regular cleaning, accumulations of bacteria-rich food, or tartar, are removed from your teeth, along with other stains.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments can be done in the office and at home. In the office we apply now what is called a varnish to the enamel or apply fluoride in a stock tray for a minute, with both techniques we ask you to refrain from drinking and or eating for an hour. At home treatments are customized for our patients individual needs on a case by case basis.
Dental Sealants
A dental sealant is a thin plastic (resin) coating applied and bonded into the grooves on the chewing surfaces of healthy decay-free teeth. Sealants create a physical barrier to seal out the food and bacteria that cause tooth decay. Both children and adults can benefit from dental sealants.

Root Canal Treatment
Your root canal treatment may take one or more visits to complete. During treatment, your dentist will remove the diseased pulp, then clean, shape and fill the root canal to prevent recontamination.

Deep Cleaning
If anesthetized wait to eat until the local anesthetic wears off. If sensitive take 400mg or 600mg Ibuprofen, warm salt water rinses and soft foods for a day or so. Often the site where the anesthetic was placed is the most sensitive.

Oral Surgery
Swelling to varying degrees may occur following oral surgery. To minimize swelling, apply an ice pack (cold compress) to affected side of face- on 10 minutes – off 10 minutes for 3-4 hours following the surgery. DO NOT APPLY HEAT. It may take 48 hours before swelling begins to subside; contact your dentist if the swelling increases after that time.
Tooth Extractions
Post op: Dental Extraction: no chewing for 24 hrs. once you are done biting on gauze, keep the area cold with ice chips. No rinsing or brushing till the next day
