Do not choose Central Coast Family Care! This is a horrible practice with 4 locations in Santa Maria, making it hard to avoid them in this town, when finding a doctor. Reasons why this place is bad news:



1. They charge you late bills a year after you even had a doctor visit with them.



2. I was lied to by the front desk operator, saying I only owed $40 for my visit due to my insurance having covered the rest. I was later charged hundreds of dollars, and a year later, I am still trying to pay these bills. I don't have a job now, so I was not expecting to be charged UNEXPLAINED bills by them!



3. Appointments may take up to 3 weeks to achieve. I almost died as a result of waiting to see the doctor. My eyes were swollen shut with a high fever and tonsillitis, and the front desk lady angrily told me all I have is an allergy and I just need to wait 3 weeks like the rest of the patients and they don't have time to hear me complain.



4. Some of their doctors are incompetent and prescribe meds that are not meant for the condition.



5. Some of the staff is rude and if you arrive for your appointment, they sigh, look up from their computer and stare at you with an annoyed look, saying nothing to you. HORRIBLE bedside manner, horrible practice, run by a large group. EXTREMELY IMPERSONAL. Do not go here unless you are fine with spending a year or more raking through their inability to handle anything properly. I have never been so dissatisfied, and disgusted at a doctor's practice in all my life.
