Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer sometimes lurks quietly without symptoms, so early detection is the best option to save lives and prevent the disfiguring aftermath of treatment. At The Center for Smile Enhancement, we do oral cancer screening during every one of our patients' routine checkups. It's a quick and painless examination. And with the help of the ViziLite Pro Oral Lesion Screening System, there's a dramatic improvement in identifying, evaluating, and monitoring suspicious areas, especially when they aren't visible with the naked eye.

Teeth Cleaning
During a typical dental cleaning, removal of plaque/bacteria and calculus (calcified plaque) creates a smooth, clean tooth surface. This process may cause teeth to become sensitive to hot or cold temperatures and acidic or spicy foods. This sensitivity is usually transient and will improve with time. We recommend daily, thorough, yet gentle, brushing, and flossing. Using fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash may also be beneficial.
Fluoride Treatment
After a fluoride treatment, avoid eating, drinking, and rinsing for 30 minutes afterward. Or after a fluoride varnish, avoid brushing, flossing, and consuming hot liquids and hard, crunchy food for four to six hours after the treatment. Should you feel nauseous or vomit, drink some water or milk and then call our office immediately.
Dental Sealants
A sealant is a temporary, thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent tooth decay. Acting as a protective shield over the enamel, the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends applying sealants on permanent molars and premolars when children are cavity-prone from ages six to 14. They can be tremendous assets in protecting teeth from decay for up to 10 years while kids are most susceptible.

Fillings
To fill tooth cavities, we typically use tooth-colored materials called composites. In rare instances, we will use "silver" amalgam filling material.
Veneers
Yes, but there are limitations. Veneers alone cannot fix significantly crooked teeth or a misaligned bite. However, veneers can make teeth appear straighter and often avoid lengthy and costly orthodontic treatment.
Crowns
Avoid chewing with your new crown or bridge for a few hours. It needs to remain undisturbed until the cement has cured.
Bridges
While implants are generally the longest lasting and most predictable option, several other options exist, such as dental bridges (which use adjacent teeth as anchors) and removable options (such as dentures).
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal therapy is a two-stage process. Alleviating your pain is our priority, and that happens during the first visit after the removal of your tooth's root. Medicine is then inserted into your tooth before a temporary filling seals it inside. During your second appointment, the temporary filling removal and permanent restoration of your tooth complete the process.

- When a bridge or denture replaces a missing tooth, only one of two primary issues gets addressed. Even though a false tooth is placed, the root is no longer present. Hence, the surrounding tissue is unstimulated, the bone below the gum line gradually recedes, and yet another serious dental issue arises—bone loss.

Tooth Extractions
X-ray machines are an invaluable tool in a dentist's office and only produce a small amount of radiation while they're in use. They detect a wide array of problems in the mouth, such as tooth decay, damage to the bones supporting the teeth, dental injuries (broken tooth roots), and teeth that are abnormally placed or aren't breaking through the gums properly. They evaluate the presence and location of permanent teeth growing in the jaw of children who still have baby teeth. And finally, they're a vital tool used to create treatment plans for large cavities, root canal surgery, dental implant placement, orthodontic treatment (braces), and complicated tooth extractions.

Orthodontics
Besides general/family and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Sudit’s advanced training encompasses facial rejuvenation, utilizing injectable neurotoxins and dermal fillers. He also has a special interest and advanced training in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and craniofacial pain management, as well as straight-wire and clear aligner orthodontics.
Invisalign Orthodontics
It is rare when Invisalign treatment focuses only on one arch (top or bottom) since any seemingly localized adjustments will affect your overall bite and potentially lead to serious dental complications, such as malocclusion (misalignment). Hazards include uneven wear on teeth, chewing issues, difficulty speaking, or pain.
Braces
Invisalign is the removable, clear plastic alternative to metal braces for kids, teens, and adults. The treatment includes a progressive series of orthodontic aligners/trays to be worn for 22 hours each day and switched out every 10-14 days. As a result, teeth gently shift into their optimal position within six months to two years. The treatment course varies based on the intended goal, how diligent you are about wearing the aligners, and how effectively the treatment progresses.

Teeth Whitening
- Take-home whitening kits that include custom bleaching trays and more concentrated bleaching agents than those available over the counter
Cosmetic Dentistry
Not only is Dr. Sudit highly sought after by patients, but also by his peers. He served as a senior member on the Admissions Committee at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, for nearly 30 years before recently retiring from that position. He’s been a member of the School of Dentistry Alumni Society Board and a clinical instructor in the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology. His professional memberships, both past and present, include the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, American Orthodontic Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Sudit graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and completed an Advanced General Dentistry residency at the University of Minnesota.
