I saved $80 by walking out of Patterson Dental.



The lady cleaning my teeth wanted to charge $80 for a "deep" cleaning of my teeth. She kept telling me it was her job and that maybe I hadn't paid at other dentist because my insurance must have paid for it, she was unable to comprehend that no other dentist has ever mentioned a deeper cleaning. When I told the dentist about it, he apparently didn't comprehend that I was sketched out because I thought I was being ripped off, because he just laughed and remained aloof. I finally walked out.



I went to a new dentist today, who not only didn't mention an extra $80 charge, but also said that my teeth looked good.

I went to this dental office for my semi-annual cleaning and check-up last week, and when I arrived in the hygienist cubical, I wanted to rinse my mouth with mouthwash, because it had been a couple of hours since I had brushed and I found no mouthwash in their restroom.



I noticed that the hygienist got a bit nervous when I asked if I could rinse out my mouth in the sink, and she brushed me off responding: “Oh that’s okay.”



Later, I discovered why she did not let me rinse. It was after she finished my cleaning; I still had a lot of grit in my mouth; so, after she left the room I got up to rinse my mouth in the sink. When I grabbed the handle to the faucet, it didn’t work, and it wasn’t even fastened to the sink. That sort of grossed me out and made me wonder just how much attention this hygienist and the dental office, in general, paid attention to matters of hygiene overall. Don’t they care about their patients health and do they wash they hands between patients?



Isn’t there some standard for dental offices and how they manage sanitary conditions to avoid the spread of germs from hand to mouth?

went to dental office and besides it being dirty, i kept receiving bill after bill from office. called my ins company, they said pmt had been submitted to dental office and had been cashed by patterson dental group. still receive bill for my xrays and when i called office to tell them what insurance co said one lady got very nasty with me and said she was turning me to collections. called again next time bill came to me and some one told me to let the lord handle it. beware of this place, they are still sending me bills. insurance company told me these bills are not valid but it is annoying that i keep receiving threats about collection agencies. someone at this place is confused. i have a family memeber who is experencing the same thing from this place.
