happy with the food, not happy with the service.First off,the food is amazing, the best Greek food I've ever had,the service.the employees are so rude except for Sammy! He's always so nice to everyone. The young lady on salads seems like she knows what she's doing but last time I was in there I ordered food to go & was standing by the drink fountain waiting for it, I noticed that she was just standing there on her phone!Even had gloves on,which she then made a salad with the same pair of gloves! So glad I didn't order a salad that night.Instead I had gotten the gyro pita which I didn't get tomatoes but instead I wanted olives, which they charged me for & they got it wrong the first time because they put tomatoes on it & when I had asked for them to remake it,the manager,he was very nice & apologetic but the cook obviously minded as she made a huge deal about it!If you hadn't messed up an order you wouldn't have to remake it!.the whole place just seems very unorganized and very unsanitary...

- Pappas Story Louis M. Pappamichalopoulos arrived in America in 1904 from Sparta, Greece. He shortened his name to Pappas to help simplify life in his new country. During World War I, Louis served in France as an army chef in General Pershing s Wildcat Division . It was there that he created his own version of a Greek salad by adding potato salad to help sustain the troops during hard times. In 1925 Louis and his wife, Flora, affectionately known as Mama , established the original Louis Pappas Riverside Caf in Tarpon Springs. With a handful of employees on sawdust floors, they opened their humble caf , specializing in fine Greek-American cuisine and the Louis Pappas Greek Salad. Potato salad at the bottom of a Greek salad soon became commonplace and the salad itself became internationally known. With the help of their five children, Michael, Lucas, Jack, Bertha and Nina, the Pappas prospered. Over the years, the family successfully opened several other restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. They eventually combined their efforts under one roof back in Tarpon Springs where the three brothers were joined by their three sons and the tradition continued. Louis Pappas Riverside Restaurant remained a landmark from 1975 until 2002. Taking the Pappas name in a new direction, grandson, Louis L. Pappas sold the 1000 seat restaurant and opened his first fast casual Louis Pappas Market Cafe sm. With several locations now open, Louis remains committed to the same core values of true Greek Cooking that sustained his family for almost a century in the restaurant business. This tradition passed down from father to son insures the Pappas name remains synonymous with only the freshest of ingredients, simply prepared and presented with warm personal touch from their family to yours.
