Veneers
A: The reason for this is because it depends on the material used to make the crown or veneer. There are labs that use cheaper material and thus the quality is not as good as other labs that use the highest standard materials. This is the difference of having a crown look thicker or have a "black" line along the gum line verses a crown that looks natural.
Crowns
Implants are the GOLD standard for replacing missing teeth. Too many times, dentists that are not familiar with placing or restoring implants, will recommend procedures such as crown lengthening, root canals, crown buildups, and others which only fail after a year or two. Dentists should be able to offer the best long term solution for their patients.

Root Canal Treatment
A: Root canals are still the treatment of choice IF the tooth is not decayed to the point where the restoration of the tooth is questionable. Too many times, you run into dentists that do not have enough knowledge on implants and will perform a Root Canal on a tooth that will end up fracturing in 6 months to a year. When a tooth is too far destroyed, it is more beneficial and cost effective to remove the tooth and place an implant. Each case is specific to the tooth in question. It is always best to go to a dentist that knows the pros and cons of both treatments to get the best answer.

Dental Implants
If an implant that we place fails within two years of placement. We will place a new one at no charge to the patient or just refund the money paid by the patient back to them. Implants have a success rate of 98% in our office.

Dr. Korovilas is a strong believer in continuing education. After his residency program, Dr. Korovilas entered a two year program to train on orthodontics (braces). Once that program was completed, Dr. Korovilas began and completed a one year program to train in placing and restoring dental implants.
Braces
The cases we do at the office are usually completed in one and half years. We rarely will put braces on till all the baby teeth are out. The reason for this is because if you place braces on a child with baby teeth, then the will most likely need braces again when the baby teeth fall out. This is when you hear the dentist say that they will do the case in stages. We believe that a child should not have to go wearing braces for four to five years. They easily get burnt out and at times become non compliant which only delays treatment and becomes frustrating to all involved.
