Teeth Cleaning
I started having problems with my TMJ after a visit to a dentist where they did a few fillings on the first appointment and a deep dental cleaning on the second appointment.

My TMJ pain was controllable up until a year ago when I had a couple of fillings and a crown placed. After that I had intense pain. Over the course of a month the dentist tried multiple mouthguards along with muscle relaxers and pain pills – none of which helped.

I have been a patient of Dr. Abeles for several months. I had TMJ for some time and I had tried other doctors but had no success. Dr. Abeles took me in and began his treatment. He helped me from the first day. His staff has been great, helping with each step. My TMJ pain is gone, my bite is straight and I am ready for a new partial denture.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Wanting a second opinion, I made an appointment with the Chief of Oral Surgery at one of the most reputable hospitals in Atlanta. He ordered an MRI and full cranial x-rays. He listened to my story along with Dr. Abeles’ diagnosis and plan to get my jaw in a more comfortable position. Without hesitation, he said that surgery is rarely effective for TMJ and that Dr. Abeles’ plan was exactly what I needed.
Tooth Extractions
My jaw had locked partially closed recently after a wisdom tooth extraction. I went to see a TMD doctor who advised me on a healing plan but I wanted a second opinion. I researched, read a lot of literature on TMD and eventually found Dr. Abeles. I met with him and was very impressed with him and his staff so I decided to become a patient.

After braces three times, I was skeptical but desperate. I’m lucky I took the leap because I’m basically pain free! To be able to function normally is priceless. Visiting the office was a perk too. I love them so much!*
